Topic: Please don't base the game on a lie

Geometry and complex numbers are lie:

http://wstaw.org/m/2012/06/14/egg____.png

Lets consider a nail with a hole in it (1). Since complex numbers are unambiguously defined by two real numbers and so are points in a plane, consider lets an intersection of a complex plane with the nail (2). It's obvious that for every part of the space inside the nail there exists λ = Vair / Vnail, where Vnail is the volume of the nail in that part of the space and Vair is the volume of the air in that part of the space. But now consider (3), where the part of the space (green) is clearly inside the nail, but Vnail = 0, so as x/0 = ∞ there must be infinite air but this can't be. Q.E.D.

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

I don't know any bullet in teeworlds which has a hole in it.
Or a nail in teeworlds, lol.
I can't see the context between this post and the game.

Maybe it is spam bot, if yes don't post here agein!

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

I'm not, I just care if Teeworlds code is based on a lie.

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

Um, wow, worst proof ever.

You can't compare the volumes if at the point in space the object does not exist there. Also, the density of air (and therefore volume ) are relatively constant, so your expressions break down.

I have no idea what you're trying to say, lamefun.

7

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

That all the code of Teeworlds is based on a lie.

If teeworlds is a lie, RUN away and maybe i will not kill you!

This topic is... about a lie?

Playing Teeworlds since 2011!

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

ever heard of never do that: x/0 ?
x/0 may seem like infinite, but you are not allowed to divide through 0.

Teeworlds is based on a cake!

At least I'm not sure if hammerfly would work in rl. So probably he's right? big_smile

You can theorize about what happens when you divide by a number approaching 0, and that's how we get infinity.

Stop feeding into this argument though, his logic is faulted..........but yes, teeworlds is based on a cake

I got my cake :3

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

Ok I may have studied mathematics on my mother language and may not understand everything on english but: I think that  x:0=∞  isn't correct. It results in an impossible equation where x ∈ {∅}

P.S. Don't drag teeworlds into this. Discuss it with people on some math forum.

P.P.S. I encourage radical thinking but

seems highly unlikely;philosophers and mathematicians worked on that for centuries.

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

The / can definitely not be extended. Your argument is invalid.

x/0 = y
=>x = 0*y
=>x = 0

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

So you divide nothing with nothing and get infinity?!?

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

Ok, please. lim a->0 x/a DNE, it approaches  ∞. We use "=" as a way of saying the same thing.

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

I suspect we got geniusly trolled.

I don't know the physics code but I guess it's a simple simulation, i.e. the mass of the bullet is just in a single point and collisions are done via a rectangular hitbox. Also, there's no nail with a hole in it in Teeworlds.

21

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

It's actually simpler than that: circle-to-circle collision detection and bullets have no mass and move by pre-defined parabola (so client only has to get starting point and direction of the bullet and can calculate its entire lifetime).

I know all the so-called "mathematical flaws" in my proof, but I saw it in a dream and my intuition tells me that it's true.

OMG I THOUGHT YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND MY SENTENCE!

Stop wasting forum space for such annoying topics!
If you think teeworlds is based on a lie, no one force you to play it.

Re: Please don't base the game on a lie

My whole life was a lie xD
