Topic: tCatch

tCatch Teeworlds gamemode.

Today I decided to take a little break from developing main projects and create something small, yet funny. And... that's where tCatch comes from.

tCatch is gamemode based on zCatch by erd and Teetime. Rules are similar, but there is two new features, which makes gameplay more tactical:

  • When tee dies, the killer takes control of it's body.

  • When tee hooks another tee, they swap their bodies.

This makes tCatch slightly more dynamic than the original mod.

But, where do that crazy rules came from? Hihihi 8D The "DeathTP" (configurable via sv_death_tp) came from my very first zCatch experience, when I tried to guess the rules and I thought that it's one of them. The second one is just my invention to make movement even more important.

Download? Sure. smile
Source code and Linux server binaries:

Windows server binaries, thanks to HeroiAmarelo:

PS. Name stands for TeleportationCatch. But I prefer short "tCatch" version.

Re: tCatch

sounds nice, going to set and play it right now

As many other things on planet, this one can be solved with Vi.

EDIT2:

Re: tCatch

Strange, I didn't noticed anything like that and it shouldn't be possible. I'll try to reproduce it. Maybe I mistaken source files with old buggy ones. Give me a minute and I'll check it. Sorry for the mess wink

EDIT: Checked - I can't reproduce it and it didn't happened during testing yesterday. To be honest I don't know what's wrong if it's not crashing on my computer. sad

One strange thing - I accidentally saw this bug on non-mine server, but I have no idea where it came from.

Guys, you compiled it from sources or executed that binary file, which I included in archive?

Re: tCatch

I'm not sure, but I have Intel i950 processor (4 cores) so maybe that binary is optimized for it (I'm not sure, because I haven't read bam lua files so I don't know what compilation options were turned on).
Maybe you should try deleting it and running bam inside tCatch directory again. sad Theoretically my operating system is i686, but as I said - I have no idea what flags bam passed to gcc.

Re: tCatch

Server up and running on 185.26.156.44:65012

Having troubles finding servers in the serverlist? Go to Pastebin (its a referer cause there is daily a new pastebin) and add the lines to your settings.cfg (in %APPDATA%\teeworlds). Then open teeworlds and go to the favorites tab. (Note however, standard teeworlds client can only show 256 favorites, use ddnet instead)
