Topic: Whoa slow down, where is the basics thread?

What about the simple things, and not simple like "How do I turn on the computer"... but maybe not as advanced as "I'm a friggin Linux master and I can't figure out how to mount my Etch-A-Sketch screen to my custom built computer running GenToo blah blah blah"... slow it down. You built a great game... now how do we play it?
I have my server all set up and running, and all my clients can connect.
Here's the issue... when joining a game, only 2 people can play, all others are spectators.
I receive an error that 2 is the max.
OK fine, so how about all this team stuff I keep hearing about. Can more than two players play if we join teams?
If so, great !! then how do we create, join, customize teams? I don't see anything in any of the UI menus about teams.
And what are clans for? No one in game can see anything about the clans.
Maybe I'm missing something, but then, we can't all be friggin Linux Masters... and I hope that's not a pre-requisite to be able to play this game > 2 people deep.

In F2 (Rcon) (Red Box) or The Autoexec (You should know) You Have To Type "sv_spectator_slots 0" or something like that.

Even though I now know a lot about TW, and even though your problem isn't a difficult one, I do think some good thorough help files would be super useful beyond the bare-bones help on this site. Maybe some of the donations fund could be used to have someone write decent documentation for everything tw related.

Well, spectator slots are 0 by default.
It seems he was just using a config he found in the internet, without getting to know all the commands of it.

How should they look like? Imo the documents are well written and easy to understand.
Maybe a little doc, explaining all errors and messages of teeworlds (client, server) would be a good addition...

In addiotion to chrisfield12 post:

Maybe the players can't join because the server allows only 2 clients, so you also should set sv_max_clients to 16, so 16 players can even join your server. The server needs to be retsarted after using such command as far as I remember.

For customizing teams:
To join a team press [ESC] and use the red / blue /spectator buttons.

You can also force players into teams, if you use (in rcon consle) set_team -1; 0 or 1 for the 3 specific teams (red, blue, spectators).

Btw there also is a command to automatically equal the number of players. Just use the sv_teambalance_time command.

Anyway a good hint is also to use the [Tab] key in F2 (Rcon console), that way you can tab to the most important commands you can use. Most of them have a self-explanatory syntax.

Just off the top of my head I can think of  a hundred things either poorly documented, or not at all.

Server Basics Help:
