well if you go afk for a short time you should just join spectators, i think you get your kills back when you join.
If you want to avoid chat killing move to a safe location or go spectating

inactvity kicks transformed to spectator moving. when still afk for next 5-10 minutes in spectator, inactivity kick
i have an idea that some of you would like: a box showing up when you are in the menu, works the same as the one that shows up when you write something, same use as the chat one, people will see you are in the menu and will wait until you get out the menu to shoot.
cut the "chat" crap and start using teamspeak or mumble...

Using Teamspeak or Mumble along with teeworlds is possible. But we can add positional sound support for Mumble to teeworlds using the Mumble Link feature.

For next version use console ping (type ping in console) as your scoreboard ping in next version?
(If this is a bad idea can somebody explain to me why the console ping is different than scoreboard ping and why one is used over the other?)

The ping in the scoreboard is the 'real' ping, so the time a message needs from the client to the server or from the server to the client. The ping in the console is the time the ping message needs to get to the server and the reply needs to get back to the client, so to get the real ping of the console ping you can just divide it by 2. But sometimes the ping from the console is wrong, cause there could be some lag at one of the connections.

Maybe you can add 2 extra chat-bubbles for f1 / f2 console.
Means, if the player is in f1 console the game produces a grey chatbubble (like in standard chat) and a red one if he's using the rcon console.

I do not now if it has been said in this topic but maybe you could append a protocol to TW, for example, if you type:
tw:// [ - server IP + port - ] / in your browser, TW boots up and immediately connects to the server address provided by the "link". I know Trackmania has this feature, so maybe TeeWorlds could implement this too.
Another suggestion: you should be able to paste a server address, IP's are hard to remember..
As for the voice chat, love it!

The teeworlds protocol has already been rejected. (#309)
Copy & Paste is not possible with the current version of SDL, it will be implemented when SDL 1.3 is out. (#12)

If you want to be undercover you still can use the rcon console in spec.
My idea is about the menu...
i think we could choose the background
have some clients where we can choose the backgrund color and its nice .. i like purple / violet color in menu
but would be cool if we can choose images for background and change the colors in menu (just got the stupid idea to use a menu with bunnies - because of my bunny skin.... xD)
this would be something like skins for menu !

RedI have an Idea for the Map editor.
When you turn on "Prof" than you can see lines and in the middle can be a small tee, because in the game is there a tee and than you can map a bit better, because than the maps aren't to small or to big, because you can see how is it ingame seeing

and the minimap is a good idea but a bit useless.. we had some old long race with a minimap.. never saw that again .. was nice anyways xD

Make maps more fun by adding BOUNCING SURFACES
Where not only the tees bounce like a trampoline, but also all bombs and bullets will bounce back like a mirror.
Add a PORTAL GUN as special weapon
then there should be only one portal gun in the game and whenever someoene dies carrying one it will fall on the ground like a flag, to be taken by others.

No it was not my map (Really did not knowed there was such a map )
I now you get tons of ideas, but quietly hoping the makers will read this specific idea, cause I 've been thinking very long and it will work brilliantly, and make it the most fun racing game there is!
Make a new map-type: RACING!
It's so much fun flying around in teeworld with this hook, much more fun than driving in mario kart.
The only problem is that in a race there is little advantage in killing other people, so whenever you kill someone you should get a mario-kart-ish bonus that will enable you to keep up [or slow down] the fastest tee. Those bonuses would be exclusive for this map.
Some ideas for bonusses:
Faster/stronger hook
faster running
higher jumping
healing drink
shield drink
rocket gun [that follows the path of the race map and works like a magnet on all tees!]
frost gun [slowing down other tees]
flying tee [constant flying with spacebar instead of 2 jumps]
inviseble tee
spiked tee
Of course this also requires some awesome maps, but if anyone can handle that it's the Tee community!
And then Tee wars will be more fun than mario kart!

Well I like you're idea but there are race maps in ddrace mod but the "mario kart-ish" bonus looks great the other ones are also great!
note: it is not teewars is teeworlds and that would also require another game for mapping who someone or even the teeworlds devs could make
