Topic: [MAP] master_exploder - CTF

Hey, what's up?

I made this map 5 minutes ago. It is called master_exploder:

Description: master_exploder6
Gametype: CTF
Players: 8-10
Version: 0.6.x
Credits: EPL for the graphics, Sushitee for optimising the map, RUSterrorist for tweaking the map, ghost for hosting the map

We would be proud to run this map on our *gV* Community Server.
Sadly some cute doodads/background graphics are missing, could you fix this please? smile

Cool map, but it's not something I'd play on, especially for 5v5 or 6v6. The base and flag area is too small for 5v5 in my opinion. Would be cool for 3v3 if it wasn't so big.

Thanks for wanting to host the map. It is still work in progress. Honestly the map was made really quickly and I haven't played a single game on it, so I don't know if it is a good map or not. I will consider graphics, if the map is ok.

Facts:
base area ctf2: 38x30
base area master_exploder: 40x28

Now I can agree that the base area is less open than on ctf2, maybe it is a bad idea but you would have to argue:
- either provide some strong arguments that prove that a base like that will inevitably suck
- either provide a demo of a game that shows that it doesn't work

I should have been more specific. The base area, in contrast to the mid of your map, is very small. The base area feels like it should be for something like 3v3 while the mid of your map feels like it should be for 5v5 or 6v6.

I do not have a demo, and my playtime on master_exploder is around 20 minutes (with other people, for 3v3), but just from looking at the flag area I have a feeling a 5v5 or 6v6 would be very uncomfortable. However, I haven't played a 5v5 or 6v6 on your map so I'll have to try and get some people to do that. I'll try and get 10 or 12 people to play a good game on master_exploder, demo it, and see how it works out.

I like both the base area and the mid, but I do not like them together.

Looks awesome. Some more tiles and doodads should have been used but this has been somewhat expected since you made it in 5 minutes.

It should be easier to hook and to move now. Also I made a mistake in the original post, the map is for 8-10 players.

The bugs that Jambi mentioned are now fixed.

Also I doubt that there will be big modifications from now on. So if someone is interested into making the map pretty, send me a message.

Wow, I don't think it's that bad... Maybe you should give an idea or constructively criticize instead of just dissing the one EPL worked to make.

The desert redish background does give the red team a camouflage advantage. big_smile
