Topic: ping 30 - nevertheless lags

my avarage ping is 30-40 but I have lags almost in regular intervals
what should I do?

Do you got lags in the server browser, too?
It's maybe your hardware. You should check your fps

Lags or jerks?
Are any other programmes running in the background?
You should also check your drivers and update them.
Do you encounter such problems in other games, either?

If lags and not jerks: Check your internet connection.

Try in f1:

cl_showfps 1

And give us an average of the number appearing on the top right of the screen.

Are you using WLAN? If yes, this could be your problem!

for sin:
no I dont have any lags in browser

for Slayer *gV*: jerks, no programs running in the background

for Dune: there is number 59 sometimes 60 or 58

for Botox: yes im using WLAN

Try to connect your pc temporarly via lan and then see if it's lagging smile

VSync causes higher latency.

60 frames/s => 1s/60 = 16.7ms minimum latency between each frame and thus input & network action since it's not threaded (this is definitely a todo).

Turning off VSync should help. That also makes the mouse move smoother.
