Topic: Special Characters in 0.5 trunk

hey,

im coding my own edited client based on 0.5 trunk.

but many people use the 0.5.2 client, so there are many special characters the trunk client can't display..

i know that trunk uses utf8 and 0.5.2 doesn't .. but is there a way to display the special characters correctly ? or how do i implent the old text encoding ?

Re: Special Characters in 0.5 trunk

The current version of teeworlds is 0.6.1.  As you know, utf8 support was introduced on the way from 0.5.2 to 0.6.0 (i.e. u.5 trunk). there is no way to display the utf8 characters on unmodified 0.5.2 clients. However, i highly recommend leaving alone the 0.5.x version and use the more recent 0.6.1 version. Why would anyone still use 0.5.x if there is 0.6.x?

Also this thread should probably be in the mods section.

Speaking of 0.5 trunk doesn't make much sense now that 0.6 is released... And there is no way to display the special characters correctly on 0.5.2 clients, since they are not supporting uft8.

Not Luck, Just Magic.
