Topic: Teeworlds as an Xbox 360 game?

I just wonder if you'd ever put this out to indie games on Xbox Live.
It would be really fun acctully to play this on xbox,

(I guess that teeworlds would make a little ($$) on this big_smile)

I don't think that you will, but have someone  ever even considered this?

For you who doesent know what Xbox Live Indie games is:

It's pretty simply a game released by the community,
You can put in your game if you want, you dont need to pass some test or
Microsoft doesen't need to test it, but it's pretty good.

I can understand what you are trying to do.. but have you played teeworlds with a xbox controller before ?
its not that easy.. and that makes it hard to steer the Tee.. witch is in other words: #bad controller" and also no smooth gameplay. oh and it would also need to have a new GUI because you cant use the current one with a controller.
so that means allot of work has to be done for this to be accomplished and as it is now.. I don't think the teeworlds devs have time to make a "new game" that thay could release for the XBox live Indie game seen..
EDIT:
oh and also there need to be 24/7 servers for the xbox players and on top of that the server need to have a good ping for all the players.

I think that it is impossible to react the same way with controler, as with a mouse. You may will have a huge dissadvantage in comparison to the others.

If you knew what the requirements are to get a game on the Xbox you'd have said "Damn that's a stupid suggestion".

It really can't be that difficult as Teeworlds was already compiled for Android! wink

Wouldn't it be much better to play Teeworlds on the Wii? You could use the Pointer Controller as the Mouse to aim and hook an the Nunchuck Control Stick to walk. You can connect a keyboard to the Wii, too, for chatting.

Develelopment for the Wii is free if you want to make a Homebrew App. The Problem is that Nintendo does not like Homebrew (it's not illegal), and with the latest Wii Firmware you can only get Homebrew on the Wii if you have a special game.

SDL has been ported to the Wii and Sockets are working too. But if you program for the Wii you need a special application, because the Homebrew Applications have the format elf/dol, but this Application does not know what todo with the bam/lua Files.

Of cause it would make Fun to play Teeworlds on the Wii, but coding would take very long so I think Teeworlds won't be ported to any other console.

You're not telling me you can use OpenGL on the Xbox? Or SDL.

If some devoted soul wanted to uptake this task, in no way would I or I hope anyone for that mater would block his efforts but the fact is, there's just a lot that goes into coding. Plus, doing ether Xbox or Wii Teeworlds' conversion means quick binds would be "out". Which isn't all bad, until you need it for gameplay...

@KillaBilla about that.. I had a friend that ported Teeworlds 0.4.3 to the Home Brew Channel on the Wii..
he got over 50% done but then his computer broke and I think he lost the files.. sad
oh and the port was called Tiiworlds smile

Hey! Great idea for controls... the right stick controls the cross-hairs, and whichever direction you point it, your crosshair automatically points in that direction. Move right, aim right. Point left, aim left. I hope you understood that. smile

As far as binds go, you could do something like: hold RT, and press down/left/right/up on the d-pad for 4 different commands. Sorry if i don't really understand XBOX well, i have a playstation smile

Controlls:
Left stick: Movement Left, right
A: Jump
Right Stick: Aim
RB: Shoot
Y: Change weapon

Is it really that hard?

I think you shouldn't use the left stick and use the arrows, that way , you can use up-arrow for jump/double jump which makes it easier for fast gameplay.

For changing weapons, I would say LB for switch previous, RB for switch next.

cant you just download Xpadder and try to play Teeworlds that way.. and then you can figure out the controller smile

i did this in 0.3 some years ago with my xbox360 controller... maybe was even the original xbox controller xD.
Was pretty cool and playable. I think getting pro is very hard though hmm
The aim suffers a lot since u have to do hooking and firing with one stick... its a lot easier with a mouse!

teerace - a website gathering results of trusted Race-mod servers providing global ranking and statistics

Me and a friend ported Teeworlds for wii at 0.4.x last year.
It was working except for big map(ctf5) cause of a little endian/ big endian bug.

But it wasnt really playable, i mean i sucked a lot more than on a pc tongue so i gave up. (+ some mini lags and bad input calibration).
