Topic: Teeworlds Launcher

I think there should be a Teeworlds Launcher/Patcher. In the last weeks i tried to create an inofficial one, but i was not able to, because i need a patchlog file or something.

So i d suggest, that either the inventor create a launcher, or i can do, if he places a patchlog file on the server and sends me the path via email.

What's the use of that? Is it too complex to double left-click on binaries?

What he means is probably an application that checks for updates of teeworlds and automatically updates it and can also start teeworlds. In my eyes it's useless.

Yeah. To write a teeworlds launcher with patch system would be useless, as new versions are released about each half year.

I think this would be great, but just if it supports other clients too. Like you start the launcher and can choose which client you want to use this time, also the developers of these clients could do patchlogs and it updates automatically. It would be an inofficial launcher then I guess.

You already have a warning when a new version is released, and it's not that often. If you give a look to his "server launcher", it's nothing amazing, not even a modified Teeworlds, it uses no patch system, simply downloads binaries.

you know, teeworlds could get an updater for the client, for maps, for skins, for like everything. and for the clientupdater itself, i just need one ini, or unreachable html page or something where the updater can read the current version.

i think for this, every client would need his own updater, or every other "developer" shall create a ini, too. the patch itself is not a problem, just to get the version which is included in the download url.

This kind of updater would be completely useless compared to the current warning included into the client, unless it automatically downloads a patch / applies it, and good luck coding that.

thanks for your information
