Topic: Display a Clanplate above the Nameplate

Hi, I'd like to add a Clanplate above Nameplates to make them more visible. I'll figure out the remaining coding (mostly) on my own and submit a pull request when I'm done.
However, I'd like to receive input on the size of the Nameplate.

Currently they are scaled to 70% of the Nameplatesize. (cl_nameplates_size * 0.7)
Is a hard scaling factor ok or should I allow to set a cl_clanplates_size individually?
I believe this carries a very small benefit and would make them unnecessary complicated.

Would love some opinions on this :-)

Nice idea, well done!
In my opinion, the size is pretty much okay, not too big neither too small.

Meh, too much text cluttered onto a screen can get a bit annoying. When you're in the game, you're not going to waste time reading anything more than the player's name. You have to focus on your gameplay! All the text flashing by you could be distracting. There's really no need for this anyway. If you want to see anymore info about the player, just simply press tab. No need for this, imo.

The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

In my opinion, it's the same discussion as enabling HD or not. It's cute, but eye-disturbing. I think the clan is part of the identity of the player (e.g. I know several players with the same nick and different clans) and should not be splitted from the nickname - like it's already done with spectators.

You can enable and disable them with a switch in the settings ;-)

I think it's a great idea. [+] But I think it'd be super cool if an icon could be in place of the clan name, if the clan has their own clan icon. As an example, I know the Qi clan has a yin-yang-ish looking icon, hence, that would replace their clan name. smile

The pull request was rejected, so this won't be in mainline Teeworlds. People can still add it to their custom client (winks at Dune wink ).

@Bee:
Unfortunately we can't display icons there, without bigger modifications. (Images would need to be transmitted)
Also this would allow anyone to load a penis in there neutral

That can happen anytime you enter a custom map with custom images but your first point in understandable.
