Topic: [MAP][DDrace] irondwarf: "bazooka1"

Hi!

I know there is a big discussion about DDrace and whether its the greatest mod there is or ruins the game...I hope you don't mind too much that my first map is a DDrace smile

The intention of the map is to give players all the jumps and possibilities of bazookas...the next maps will be for Laser and Hammer smile

The Map has to be played by a minimum of two players. It's rather Noob-friendly because there are a lot of respawn-teleporters.

Bazooka1

As I'm momentarily working on a new tileset "asphalt", I also made a version with this tileset (I hope the embedding works)... it would be nice if you could leave some feedback - like if the rocks are too detailed. (I didn't want to split this post into the Graphic-forum, I hope that's ok)

Always put the game tiles under the walls, else the tee overlaps the walls, and that looks horrible.
Also, try to use better graphics, than unhookable tileset for hookable AND unhookable tiles, that's really boring.

Well, thats a question of taste... I like this kind of "boring", monotone style (same as in the "skynet" maps), because the normal tiles would only distract from the map. Only in DDrace of course!

I understand you wouldn't like to be disturbed by doodads while playing, but there is a feature in Teeworlds to make maps which fit both tastes: the high detail option.

When playing on vanilla - or instagib, I always disable the high detail, what result in removing the doodads and everything could disturb your aim.

To do so, in the map editor, you should add some additional 'disturbing' graphics, the doodads, and turn the 'Detail' option to 'Yes' at the corresponding Tile. This way, you would both satisfy the players trying to play without disturbing graphics (like you), and players appreciating to play on a cute map (like me).

If you check the official maps, they all have doodads, or additional graphics (shadow, caves in the background) in high detail option.

Ah, thanks! Always wondered about that feature in the Editor smile I will update my map in the next few days!
