Re: less damage for laser after bouncing?
Yes, it lowers the impact of luck shots, but what about the people, who really can aim the bounce shot. They're using it, to kill capers or normal deffers. I don't really can aim the bounce shot, but what about the tactical bounce users?
It becomes difficult to kill a camper, if he's camping with the grenadelauncher.
I'm not against the laser bounce dmg. change, but i'm also not for that. I weigh up the arguments of both sides.
Campers really don't have any advantage over the people they kill--if they can shoot you, you can shoot them--;besides I still don't like the idea of the laser, or it's bounce, being the end all be all for anything, campers included. If I want someone dead I swiftly come in (usually with the grenade launcher) shoot him and follow it up with some laser shoots, gun spazes and sometimes deadly hook with rifle combos. Taking damage for the laser, saying it lets noobish campers have free reign, is ridiculous. That has never stopped me (when I don't have the laser) from coming in and kicking some ass. Generally if they feel that's the only good place they have in a game, they have seriousl gaming flaws and easily can be seen and used against them.
If you know him well, you can control your laser that good, that you can hit him nearly ever.
After this change these players have to change their own gameplay to make more direct hits and that is not really good i think, because there are just a few who can control the bounce so good. This is my opinion now.
Like I've said before, the laser is not the end all be all of teeworlds gaming. Plus, making direct hits is a good thing. It teaches players to have 100% aim; a good quality in gaming. Also, changing it down to 3 isn't a big deal. Even though I try to control the laser bounce, I only use it successfully 50% of the time. Plus, lowing the bounce damage (making the kill last a tad bit longer) causes the gamer to chose other weapons and mastering the 6 weapons of teeworlds. (seven if you include the hook) xD
