Topic: [QUESTION] Maximal size of the map

My friend and me started to make a new map for EXPLorer mod for teeworlds. That map will have a vast size (not expected that bigger than 3000x3000). I think that size will decrease some important things as (may be) ping or programm work speed (means that programm will give some lags). Please tell me that, if you know.

Its map for EXPLorer mod.

Usually there should be no problem with large maps other than the fact that you have long download times for the map.

This should not cause lag, but the map downloading will be very long. Also, there is no size limit for maps.

Actually... there is no map size for downloads, but the client cannot handle such large maps. I have made a 2500 x 660 map, and the client takes more than 10 seconds to load it. This gives the error, "Too weak connection (not acked for 10 seconds). This is the same reason that Pocram World was cancelled, and same for me.

I don't think it will work out, sorry...

Yep alias is right - I remember the same problem with a DDRace map I created with a much lower size (maybe because there are more layers). I reduced the size (boarders and so on) on and it worked afterwards but it was a little bit annoying. On my newer PC it started fine (even with old 0.5.2 TW-Client). Anyway even on my old PC it worked with the DDRace-Clients - but that was not really a final solution for me cause not everybody is using a custom-client (even the new "rotate-tiles" was a no-go cause all 0.5.2 players would not render it right)

Thanks! I thought that it will be used most of all at local one-computer servers. I think that it will support it smile .
