Topic: Prevent Hacks

Hi,

im experiencing my server beeing attacked several times by rcon hacks. The people join, auth as admin and ban all players. is there a way to prevent this? im kinda pissed and am going to take the server down. its near to unplayable because it seems to be hacked pretty easy. what can i do?

Upgrade your server to the trunk and see if that helps.

yea, with the introduced rcon cmd

sv_rcon_max_tries

you shoudlnt experience successful rcon hacks anymore.

This fault has been fixed in the trunk version, update your server to protect it.

Rcon can only be hacked in about two mods.. don't want to say which. If you are using a pure teeworlds there shouldn't be any rcon bug. They could only use Brute Force but this would take weeks.

Is this bug fixed and is there any bugfix?

I know a bug in two mods. In some servers the bug is fixed but in most of them not. In one mod your get enought rights to execute a command that lets the server crash ... in the other mod you will just get rcon access but you can't do anything with it.
