Topic: I see dead people...as a result of nukes?

Weird stuff has been happening to me while playing teeworlds the past 2-3 days.


Well two weird things really.


The first one was in CTF5 (The dirt and grass map with plenty of high risk jumps to make below ground.)

What happend was that some sort of huge explosion occured near the red flag.
I don't know if some guy shot something or if it was an admin thing but we are talking about like a huge red/orange explosion that killed people I think. Just imagine a manypointed star expanding from the center in 2 colors, red in the middle and orange around it. This I was absolutely sure of seeing. I commented about it but nobody replied, I guess nobody knew what it was and was to busy defending the flag/trying to take it.


The second thing just happend a few minutes ago. After whacking someone with a hammer in Team Deathmatch on the mexico Deathmatch map (think its like 6 or 5) I got something resembling a sword. For a short period of time I could swing this thing and almost a star like sound (like star dust/star flinger sound if you know techno mixes) .

Not sure if I really saw this one because I got killed just 20 sec after getting it and it was action everywhere. But Im pretty sure.THe big huge nuke-ish one Im absolutely sure of though.



Any thoughts on this or did my tea include cannabis?

LOL MEXICO MAP!

You shouldd have taken a screenshot...

Could you tell me the players you were playing with (try to remember the names).

It's probably a modded server, or you were smoking too much weed.

Yeah I should but im on a Mac and I dont even know where the printscreen is tongue

I played [RD]'s CTF server. I could check out the Team Deathmatch one to but I doubt any of them was modded. This was only seen once per server per account.


All I know is that the big "cartoonish" explosion happened. Wish there was auto-record on the game and I could've shown you this.

I really don't remember the players.

monteaThe firing (default is Left Mouse Click) button makes you move quickly into the direction you aim at, slicing through any tees in the way. Ninja Sword lasts for 15 seconds, and hitting a tee with it deals 9 damage to the 90 lose with it but its still bad i mean good

The last part seems to describe what I got. But the explanation is written in very bad english and I dont really get it.


Did some digging around and the big explosion seems to be when certain admins die and they have added this.

The ninja sword is not a bug, it's just a weapon in the game. smile

The explosion could be just a grenade explosion.

alias, one server is illegaly running a ninja as melee default weapon, so this isn't the pure Teeworlds and this explains why this "weird" thing appears. This is due to the server running an illegal modification, and you should not join it anymore wink

I don't think these are bugs since no one had it except you...????

We already said, these "weird things" are caused by servers running illegal mods under the DM/TDM/CTF gametypes.

Why should I report servers running awesome stuff? tongue how do you get the "ninja" weapon in "legal" servers? tongue

Because they should not run it over the CTF gametype. And this is nothing about awesome stuff, more like stupid and crazy features - with no thoughts about the gameplay.
The server should be ran over a "MOD" gametype .
