Topic: [SOLVED] How do i run a teeworlds server with wine?

Hello teeworlds community,
I am on ubuntu 10.10,  and I am trying to run teeworlds servers that do not have a linux binary with wine, and whenever I try to execute the binary with wine, it gives me this error at the end:

[4d76499a][register]: choosen 'master3.teeworlds.com' as master, sending heartbeats
[4d7649d3][register]: ERROR: the master server reports that clients can not connect to this server.
[4d7649d3][register]: ERROR: configure your firewall/nat to let through udp on port 8303.

if you need any more info just ask smile
any help is appreciated.

Update: gotta love the ignorance of human beings, I forgot I was running some firewall and it was blocking the port big_smile

You need to forward port 8303 in your router.

I figured that but the weird thing is, I don't have a router... just a usb modem, thanks for your help though smile

If your USB modem is a 3G modem, you will not be able to host Teeworlds servers.

idk if its a 3G modem but I can host servers in ubuntu and windows fine, just not with wine sad

Why do you want to host on wine?
Hosting is possible on linux/windows, so I see no reason for it.

because some mods don't have a linux binary.

We don't support mods here..
By the way, mods supplying neither sources nor a linux binary must be noobish... Nobody would host a serious server on windows...

it is not completely mod related because it applies to all servers.

All up to date, tuned and with a special cfg for each one - 24/7 since 2 years...
