Press F1 and type in "record name".
Replace "name" with the name you want the demo to have.
When you're finished, press F1 again and type "stoprecord".
on my computer f1 doesnt work, if someone can tell me how to switch the key that you need to press that would be great, also since i cant do it like that i use taksi
(free desktop recorder) just download it, open it, then open teeworlds. then click
"F6" to record and f6 again to stop
ESC: SETTINGS: CONTROLS: change console key to anything.
thank you <3
alias ftw
EDIT
open up TW, click ESC. nothing?
if you're in the server browser, click "settings" in top right...
if you're in a game, click esc and settings.
oh ok sry
thx <3
Also, where are these demos saved?
in user/appdata/roaming/teeworlds/demos
If you'd download the Latest Development version
you could simply press esc ingame and then click the record button
But it's ofc up to you what client you want to use.
Ok thanks, how do you take them out and make montages out of them?
do you go in the data and its somewhere in there?
you have to record the demos with a recording software
Use xinit to start another xserver on display :2 with only teeworlds as client. Set a low game resolution. Use ffmpeg to grab the display:
ffmpeg -f x11grab -s cif -r 25 -i :2 ~/movie.avi
... or something like that.
After testing, you could just put that stuff into two scripts (one to start xinit + ffmpeg, one to be the xinit main process that starts teeworlds, sets config file / screen resolution etc) if you're planning to do it often and use $1 and $2 for demo name + output filename. I'm not sure, if ffmpeg's x11grab does work with a dummy display, too, but just try: that would make it even more comfortable to just "convert" demos to videos right from within your main session / favourite file managers right click menu or whatever you use.
@Lure - .......Dude, im 12.....i do not understand this
@DALAS - I do this yet it is very lag!! but i guess this is how
thanks
wat program u use to record?
fraps
Taksi, free reorder, i cant pay for one
Hmmm. If you are using Windows XP, try Camstudio.
When you have a good recording program, play teeworlds in windowed mode, and set resolution to ~800 x 600. Record the region of the window, and you should have more smooth animations.
I suggest Fraps
Edit: Ok free program,whatever -_-
He says he needs a free program -_-
Fraps - the good and free program, a lot of movemakers use it.

You're living in warez world? Since then have Fraps been free?
Sure there's a free version, but iirc it puts a watermark on top of videos and you're limited to 60 seconds of video.
WrX is a pirate
OH yeah! Try WeGame!
