Topic: words of common parlance... slang

i unfortunately do not know the meaning of certain words, (like "awesome")
you (someone) can make a list of most used words not translatable
with their significance?

Re: words of common parlance... slang

awesome is translatable and means the higher degree of 'good'.

Re: words of common parlance... slang

Get an online translator / dictionnary and look there every time you need a translation. That's how I learnt most of my vocabulary tongue

for example "teeworlds"

such a useless thread. Everything that is used here is also researchable in google or translators, no need to open up a thread bout it, in "Community News".

Or do you think we create "new words" so that noone is able to understand us?

Re: words of common parlance... slang

Maybe he/she means words like: lmfao,stfu or rtfm..
But these are not real words, just shortcuts for other things, but we really need no thread for this o.O
For "shortcut" language you can just search in wikipedia, there's almost for every word an article.

(I don't know if shortcut is the right word for this, but I think everyone understands me)

Re: words of common parlance... slang

I think this is what you need: Urban Dictionary.com
It specifically works with teenage lingo, slang, crude language, and everything in between.

lmfao = Laughing My F***ing Ass Off
stfu = Shut The F*** Up
rtfm =  Read The F***ing Manual
Assume acronyms with "f" mean fuck because it usually is. wink

Give others the respect you wish to be respected with. In the mean time, enjoy the website!

Followed by
Wtf=What the F***
gtfo=Get the F*** out!
lol=laugh out loud
rofl=rolling on the floor laughing
You get the idea.

USA pride. What now.

Haha...

Really funny. There are some words those are not exactly translatable but have meaning and sometimes people use shortcut(abbreviation) are unknown for some people.

Re: words of common parlance... slang

Might be a bit irrelevant, but still of high importance.
