Topic: SACTW

Hello my little friends.
(sorry for my english)

Today, im tell you about us SACTW project.
SACTW - (abbr. Simple Anti Cheat Tee Worlds) a another client (not game) software.
This enemy has working on stable (offical) 0.5.2 version TW (windows).

With connected SACTW you don't run cheats, aim's and modifications with TW.

On program window may see, who used this client and if you in "list" - you not cheater...

How does this work? It seems like this is yet another try to make a secure client that will miserably fail in a few days when people discover how it works (even though the Russian-only language makes that part harder).

I think this is a Delphi-based client-sevrer app that display a list of non-cheaters who used this.
If you think you found a cheater, you should check him nickname in that list, maybe he not a cheater, he a proGamer.
And on pressing button "Запуск" tw will start.
So, i think, its just tw launcher, that add your nick to *non-cheaters* list
btw, if it will written in Lazarus, it will be cross-platform.

I have to tell you that I don't like the idea of using an external program to verify one is not cheating. I don't know how your program works, maybe you should tell a bit about, so we are able to decide whether it gives protection we can rely on, or not. I understand you probably won't release the sources of that tool, since that would give room to new cheats, but you should at least provide linux and mac binaries, too, so users of these operating systems are not left out. (If your program is not cross-platform, forget the last part and (in my opinion) you should get rid of it....(sorry, but 'm just sick of all these "software-developers" who create winodws only propgrams. I mean, it is not too hard to program cross-platform....).

Because my lack of knowledge about your tool, I can't decide whether it is "safe" or not, but from reading your description I think there are easy ways around it. I might change my opinion, if you provide us with more information.

version for *nix systems not be developed, becouse:
1) OS not popularized (~1 player from 50 used *nix)
2) open source get a chance to build fake-software

how working program u may see in post "Bananbl4"
i think - it's a very actually method on tournaments or CW...

If your project will be open source, for all platforms and in english it will fail. If not it will even fail more epicly and this not only on security points. This project is just a wasting of time.

When I asked about how this program works, I meant a different thing. It's clear to me that it is somehow starting the tw client. But how do you verify that is a vanilla client? Do you take a hashcode of the file and compare it? Is there any possible solution against .dll hookups? If not, this software is just useless.
In my opinion it is in general not useful, if it is not cross platform. Users of those systems will have no possibility to prove their "cleanness" to the users of your tool.

Also I believe a piece of software like this is not needed at all. It is not too hard to distinguish a bot from a real player. There have been very long talks about that topic, so I won't bring that up again.

This having said, I still wish you the best with your project, though I'm considering it sensless.

In vanila - detecting players with bots so easy... Just we a insta-players.
In insta - more peoples has been "false-PRO" with anycheat... i had this situation..
Dont know about other countries, but in russian community - it seriously problem.
We have to find idea, and we get it...

@WrX: There are already ways around TTC and in my opinion it's just as useless as this piece of software.

@Cadr: Just to tell you: I don't want to offend you. I think every effort put into a project that is related to teeworlds is good. I really appreciate it, when people actually do something for the game we all like so much. But in my opinion your program is not useful, it's just the wrong approach to the problem of cheating in my opinion. And again, this is only my opinion (from the poll we can see that actually there are some people who do believe your software to be a fine and useful tool).

So again, if you don't want to give out this "secreted" information, please tell us at least if your program will give protection against .dll hookups.

TTC easy for hacking... just need know TW source and knowledge in programming...

We have SACTW - version "for testing"... but cooming soon has been realized new, updated... with strong protect and architectures...

and... yeah... now SACTW give protection (to official 0.5.2 client) versus .dll hookups... and mores wink

this really worked, and now we playing official games (FW\CW\Duels) with SACTW protection... this is do new resultates with any "GOD OF TEE"...

waiting new release... with english interface

Cadr, I'm sorry but your project looks really useless until you convinced us it could work, and then explain us a bit how it's supposed to work. There is no client-sided working and safe client yet.

About the hacks you will have to face:
-> .dll hookups, you said you're giving protection against them, say how
-> pixel analysers
-> man-in-the-middle attacks (proxys)

All the client-sided anti-cheats failed up to now (and I know many of them), don't go too far away into a project before being sure the engine is perfectly working.

Ah, and saying "it works but haha you won't know how" won't convince us.

Dune, im bad in english and not understanding your questions about sactw.

Us project have one minus - he for "white" client...
But, on everyday may use another clients and mods...
Replayng again: its great for 1-2 game...

all are "crying" that there is no way to combat hackers in the game.
but, apparently, nobody needs it...

i am not a hacker, but i know that a good hacker with assembler (or other way to hack) can do everything to bypass your protection,
but it is right your try to identificate and kick cheaters

No, it can be used always!
Main - its agree with the opponents.
1-2 games with an official client for the sake of an important match.
at the usual time - you can use other gaming clients.
one is not a problem to another

We're working on it, and to crack future versions - should be an incredible computer genius!

This version was released for testing. In the Russian community also reacted with skepticism. But now, this idea appeals to many. The main problem - you can not get everyone to use it

I do not understand why people are so supportive of the project. We're not engaged in commerce, and do it for the same players

The main problem in my eyes is still that we do not have any real information about how the project assures security. I personally won't trust a program from which I don't know how it works.

The other problem is still, that in my eyes it should be a cross platform program. You are simply excluding many players. For example how should I (a Mac/Linux user) face an accuse of botting. People might ask me to use this client. Then I answer that I can't and won't. Thus people will think that in fact I do bot, because I am refusing to use anti cheat software. This is just not correct.
