Topic: Teeworlds-Convention

Well, I was thinking about meeting each other IRL as we share the same hobby or even passion. There are multiple opportunities of things we could do (strategic development planning, teestyle workshops, tournaments, off-topic discussions ...). I just wanna check how many people would like to see each other.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

wow fantastic idea, but for now, we meet only with fantasy!

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

No matter how good the game is and how friendly the community is. But i have no time for meeting IRL. Also it's gonna be expensive: travelling to Germany or at least Poland needs money, and it's pretty risky to go to the unknown country by your own trying to find some teeworlds players wink

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Good idea. But I don't think we should focus on teeworlds related stuff (strategic development planning, teestyle workshops, tournament...). I don't think it should be like a convention, because teeworlds isn't big enough for this.

I would prefer a meeting at some cultural event (like a concert or a festival) so that we can know each other without only talking about teeworlds.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Love the idea. Though id need mor einformation on how this would proceed, where we would meet ect. smile but otherwise id love to meet all you guys, and btw i agree with Ubu

I was thinking about Sweden, the northern heart of Europe. And if you don't know the country: it's worth visiting it.

Visiting Sweden is expensive too hmm

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Sweden is far from the countries from Western Europe, and then expensive. France is worth visiting too, we all could defend our point of view. I mean, it's gonna be very difficult - even if the players are very motivated, like me - to organize some international event. We're not all sons of Bill Gates, and we don't know us each other thaaat much to spend such a lot of money.
You maybe could organize that kind of event in your country (it wouldn't be the first time it happends), but I really doubt of the success of such an international 'convention'.

Edit: btw, you also should think about age problems and we're not native english speakers neither. That's another point why I really think it could only be successful when you would keep it inside a country.

lol Imagine us all in an internet cafe playing TW big_smile

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Well this thread is supposed to check how many people are interested in meeting. I personally do not care where it takes place, if it is in Europe. So if there are enuf people we can talk about the location. To save overall costs we should consider a Central European country e.g. France or Germany, which have the infrastructure (several big airports) and a huge active teeworlds community. In general we can keep expenses low, if someone can provide a place to meet for free e.g. a sports hall or community center or if we go camping (in summer).

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

it might not be a good idea for alot of TW players are around 12-15, unless you mean just in the forum, then its a good idea, more older people. and also, \the flying somewhere money thing is kind of stopping alot  of TWers from going...maybe we could get some software like skype etc. to talk offtopic etc? it would be a little more meet and greet than in the forum......BOTTOM LINE i think its a good idea, but maybe we should start small and have a multiple skype chatroom w/webcams, it would be less work, less flying, more participants(?) (little ones) but i dont know, maybe im the only one who thinks this? i think via webcam would be good though

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Well i dont care if there are 12 year old people who cant join us. Thats just a matter of fact. 12 year old boys also cant go the gamescom. Who cares? since there are enough old people to join its alright..

Well the skype idea sounds pretty good, though its a big difference to meet IRL or talk via headset.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Hmm, Skype is too laggy for big conversations, I would prefer a teeworlds Teamspeak channel. Is there something like this already?

Maybe we should start a list who would come and how far they would go, to get an overview.

burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

It depends of the destination. If the meeting is at an interesting city, my budget will be higher because teeworlds won't be the only motivation. But if the meeting is at a cybercafe in an unknown city, my budget won't exceed 10 euros...

Lmao, i'm ok with geography Landil, or do you think your country is so shy that no1 knows it? big_smile
I'd like to visit both Germany or Sweden, but it's really not about time for this.

i dont wanna talk with people who cant even talk proper english

19

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

There already exist public Mumble and Teamspeak channels about Teeworlds, that is not really the problem. IRL meeting is something completly different, stay in topic.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

Well, I would travel up to berlin when we would meet there. But a teeworlds teamspeak would also be great.

Re: Teeworlds-Convention

I wouldn't go. Cost way too much to fly overseas and my parents would have a heart attack. But if it does happen I'm interested to see the things discussed. smile
