If you want to change the background color only: create a second background quad and fade it in and out.

Coold0wn made a day'n'night change once, but the dowloads are offline.
Well I have this change, but I'm at the moment at my iPod so I cannot upload this file today. I'll do it tomorrow if noone is faster wink

I uploaded all of the Tutorials in one Zipfile.
The one you are looking for is the Coold0wn_Bg_whole_day.map.
Just put the Mapfile in your data/maps folder and open it with the Mapeditor.
