Topic: [SOLVED] Problem with socket? Port may already be in use

Hey guys, I'm having some trouble setting up my server here. I just can't properly launch its .cfg file, I mean, the server runs OK with default settings, but once I try to launch it with the .cfg file, it fails:

What does that mean? How do I solve it?

Here's my .cfg file, tell me if you need any other information:

sv_name    Craphters Server
sv_bindaddr 201.220.172.2
sv_port 8303
sv_external_port 8303
sv_max_clients 12
sv_register 1
sv_map xyz_72225211
sv_rcon_password ***
sv_gametype DDRACE
sv_motd    Welcome, newbie :-)

sv_vote_kick 1
sv_vote_kick_bantime 5


I have Windows XP 32 bits

There is another application, probably a teeworlds server, running. Only one application can listen on one port. Try changing "sv_port" to another value.

Already did, I opened from 8303 up to 8350, tried lots between those numbers, console just keeps closing >_<

Goddamiit im really pissed, five minutes ago it was working perfectly, then, I modify a few settings, and BAM, it doesnt work anymore :@

It would be a great help to us if you could tell what settings you changed.

I've seen a lot of tuning. Can you run a vanilla server (simply DM, maybe the same original teeworlds_srv without any config) and tell us if the problem persists?
By the way check you don't have a firewall (software like Zone Labs and Windows Firewall or hardware like a router or a Zywall 2).

PS: yeah, it's a fuckin DDrace. We don't support mods.

Remove sv_bindaddr and then try again.

Hey guys, yeah, I know how much you dislike DDRACE, so I tried with Vanilla, and the problem remained... So I redownloaded the server, and removed sv_bindaddr, and it worked!

If you try to bind your server to an IP your computer hasn't access to, you will get that socket error aswell.

I didn't say that. I only said HERE we don't support mods. Hard to understard?
Come back with the same problem on a vanilla server and we could speak again and solve your issues.
