Topic: [CONTEST]DDRace Map Contest

I don't know if you all like or hate DDRace but i think we could do a little Map Contest

Rules

  • Every Map musn't reach the size of 1.5MB

  • No inappropriate images.

  • Every Map must be able to be finished.

  • The Map must be playable with at leats 2 Players. Single Player Maps aren't allowed.

  • Every Map must be new. Published Maps aren't allowed.

  • The Maps have to be posted in this thread.

  • The Maps have to be posted with 2 editor screenshots, the first with the gamelayer and the second without the gamelayer and with a download link.

  • Every Mapper is allowed to post at most 3 Maps.

  • The Maps have to be compatible with the stable server version of windows and linux 19.8.2010.

  • Every map has to be built by only ONE mapper.

  • Deadline: 1.10.2010 12pm GMT+1.

Well since nobody is answering the topic , I like the idea and I think if the mappers go for it we could end up seeing very nice & good maps !

I think ddrace maps should be detailed too. Although I don't like the combination of jungle doodads and gras ground.

Here is the result of the DDRace Map Contest

At first I have to say that it was really hard to vote the best map because except of 2 or 3, every Map was good


1.Place: Deadalien with DarknezZ: 8,25/10
This Map convinced us because it is very balanced. Every Part is possible with a bit of thinking and is quite fun. The Design is based on generic_unhookable and some doodads, but it's okay. Every single Part bases on nice ideas and not only on standard tasks.
Finally I can say that this Map convinced us with the balanced gameplay, the imaginative parts and the places you have to think al lot to manage it.

2.Place: Shura with twine6: 8,08/10
twine6 which is based on grass_main and grass doodads has no bugs and looks pretty nice. The switchers are very cool and a nice idea to help your partner. The ideas are not so imaginative than those in DarknezZ, but they are still very cool. Because of that this Map is only on the second place.

3.Place: Kill[aaaaaAAAAAlll] with ddrace_killa5: 8/10
At first I have to say that ddrace_killa5 is the best map in case design. It looks very nice and got 10/10 points in this case. The first parts are really nice and fun to play, but then they becom worse and worse. The last parts are based on shoot your partner with the laser to get him through the freeze-tiles. Beseides there was a hard bug at finish line.
If this Map wasn't so bad at the end, it would be the winner of this whole competition.
