@alias: Could you tell me what's the difference between run and race maps? I don't get it.
@TeeKilla: I will stick to race maps for now. I rarely play vanilla, I won't try to make maps for it as the result would be a vanilla map you need race skills to play properly.

run is against a clock (-> boring)
race is against other player (-> interesting)

I finished another map, race_ng. Use it without gravity. I was surprised how little is possible without gravity in a race map (well, maybe I just hadn't got enough ideas). Have fun with it.

Please reload the map race_dd_atnight if you use it, I did some corrections on it.

Sorry for triple posting, but I hope you forgive me because this thread is pretty old already and no one would look at it anymore.
I just cleaned up the top post, as I said, I don't like my old maps anymore. But I have made a nice (I hope) dm-map and I want some feedback on it. Do you like the gameplay, do you think the map is balanced?

A little buggy map but nice idea. Maybe you make less "islands" and a little more "shore".

Looks very good. [+1]
I love simple grassy maps, imitating the original maps. The only thing I don't like is there is a little bit too much hearts and shields on the map. The background mountains look too stretched out, and maybe little bit more dark land background. But, that'd be all.

Give others the respect you wish to be respected with. In the mean time, enjoy the website!

Added new map: I always loved the sidescrolling style of hotrun, so I made a sidescroller race myself, run_glacier. It takes me about 28 seconds to get through it, I hope it isn't too easy.

@Bee: I updated dm_shore and the screens, see wether you like it now. Btw, the mountains you meant were stretched to make the screen look better, ingame they were smaller.

It's nice, but to be honest, there are a few problems.

- Under those three platforms at the bottom, no one would usually visit.

- If the map is too big in KB, most people wouldn't download it (try the default tiles?)


You're still getting better, and it is good to see that not all people are making ddrace maps.

Alias' map really has a similar structure to my ctf, funny. Be sure I had never seen it before I made my map . . . but if you take 300 users, and make them create a ctf map, I would expect some similarities.

"If the map is too big in KB, most people wouldn't download it (try the default tiles?)"  - Agreed, my personal limit up to which I download a map is at about 200 kb tongue. But if you think that's too much, I'll try to reduce the size.

I just wanted to say, overall, your maps are really nice, and perhaps the best thing I like about the CTF map, is that you can gain high speed easily. Good Job

I made a map for the explorer-mod, exp_the_desert, as this rising mod surely needs more maps. Short and plain map, but it has a nice gameplay imo. I'm hosting a server with this map for today only (Blue explorer server), but it would be great if someone put it on a 24/7 server. big_smile

I added 2 dm-maps, dm_desertmoon and dm_bluewaters (is there any trick to find good names for maps?). In both maps I used a new system for the background I remember from a game called Supertux . . . I hope I won't see any maps which use the tilesets as main in the foreground.
I 'm too lazy to post anything else about them, just look at them.
