Topic: [HELP] Kickbot?

Hello, Tees.

I have been on some servers today, until someone came in and startet kicking everyone.
The weird thing is, that the person started a vote, won immediately, so the person got kicked instantly.
Also, when the person left, the chat read:

* <Name> left
* <Name> left
* <Name> left

So.. It said it three times. I don't know if it's because of the new client Matricks released some minutes ago, but the kicking had started earlier.

Well. I haven't been here for some months, and now I wanted to ask you.. How often does this happen? Is it new?
It's not that funny being kicked out all the time.

Well. it's called voteclient and it's not new. I explain how it works in a few words.
A player with this client join a server. He can win every vote if there are enough free slots to beat the number of active players. He starts a vote, and then his client "connect" as many other fake users with his same name, and they all vote yes. Then they leave.

It don't happen always, but it's not the main problem right now. This problem can be easy solved setting up a firewall or adding a few lines of code to the sources, disabling more then 1 vote from the same IP. Matricks today's release is not related to this.

Of course it's not as it can be avoided like you said.

Server need:
- sv_max_clients_per_ip <num>   (Only Internet Partys)
- sv_client_delay <time>  (Time between connection and connection of a single ip)

Welcome back, Pocram. I usually get the admin of the server, and bind the id to a key, and laugh as they are banned. smile

anyways.... in the newest trunk version u can download here: http://www.teeworlds.com/builds/ this problem with the vote client is fixed since only one vote per ip is allowed wink

it was fixed in changeset 2302
