Topic: [HELP] TeeWorlds causing Bluescreens?

Hello!

I don't know why, but my Windows XP crashes with a bluescreen if playing TeeWorlds for a longer time.
It happened already 2 times to me (I never had other bluescreens on my PC).

The error cause is Win32k.sys

Anyone had a similar error?

Re: [HELP] TeeWorlds causing Bluescreens?

It's not a Teeworlds-related problem but a PC problem.

The win32k.sys process is part of Microsoft Windows and should not be deleted or prevented from loading each time Windows loads. Doing so could cause errors or Windows to stop working.
If you've recently been getting errors with win32k.sys it's recommend you unisntall and/or re-install any programs recently that may have generated this error. If this does not resolve your issue or you have not installed any program recently try recovering Windows back to a recent backup of Windows.

Under XP, I had the same problem. My computer crashed like ~10 times a day. As I got sick of it (and Win7 came out), I bought myself Win7, completley formated my PC and reinstalled all programmes. Now everything works fine, no more crashes smile

A way to get the problem:
1. Cause the BSoD (Bluescreen of Death)
2. Get paper and pencil and write down the stop/error code starting with 0x0.
3. Write the full code here.

Windows saves system state before it crashes. To get that log file, just click Start -> run -> drwtsn32 and in Dr. Watson choose the log from the list below. Upload the content somewhere (solid files for example) and send us that link (do not post the code here, it is really long). It is also good to get the hexadecimal stop code (0xsomething), how killabilla said.

Re: [HELP] TeeWorlds causing Bluescreens?

@ Lanta:

The bluescreens have nothing to do with anything recently installed or so.

I haven't said, that I deleted Win32k.sys, which can't be deleted anyway.
I said, that the error was caused by the driver called Win32k.sys.

It's the second time this happens.

There's some lag, the sound runs in an endless loop, and then there's the bluescreen.

Btw, I never had bluescreens on Windows XP before (Except the two ones while playing teeworlds).
Hah, I miss the good old Windows 98 SE...

Back to the topic:

I don't really think TeeWorlds causes bluescreens directly.
I just wanted to ask, if someone experienced the same in combination with TeeWorlds, not Windows itself.

There may be some problem with the underlying drivers, which TeeWorlds may use for graphic and audio rendering or whatever.

@KillaBilla:

Yea, I forgot to write down the stop code, and other things. I just memorized the cause of the bluescreen, and resetted the computer because of a very loud and endless Tee sound loop ("Weeeee!").
