Topic: [HELP] Soneone hoste my map

someone took my map and has hosted it on the server under false names that I can, however tuhen then I do not want...
what can i do?

You can do nothing. If a player download a map, he can change it and re-host with another name without giving credits.
What you have to do next time?
1) testing your map in a local server or in a passworded one
2) publish the map here in the forum, writing that you have all rights about it. For example, creative commons.
3) Maybe (but never seen) put in a tileset the creative commons logo and put it in the map so everyone can know he can't modify the map without your permission.
In teeworlds there are not magic methods for protecting a map from being stole.

Lanta, I have the same problem with Kh_ddrun_1final and exo_kH. There is a license note (cc by nc nd) and they stole it too.

Law is on your side. You can bring an action against them (sue maybe is the right english word).
I know... it's expensive. But if you have rights over your map using CCBYNC you can.

You can't do nothing more than that. Try to contact them...

ok so if I've finished my map I put it in the forum here as a purely order / one of the support team, so to speak proteckten can ... or?

Yeah, if you post your map here in the forum and you insert a CC-NC-BY licence your map is law-protected. That is not a guarantee nobody will stole your map, but it's the only thing you can do at the moment.

You can go into the Creative Commons website and take the CC-NC-BY license to post with your map.

Oh instead of me creating a topic,this was pretty close to my question. I created a map and was wondering how to post it. Do i put here then it gets downloaded into the game? If not how?

Ill mostly be making maps for this site ( if i could figure out how to post maps....)

If someone hosts a server with your map, everyone who enters such server will get the map downloaded, yes.

just host a server with your map (or find someone how will host your map) and than hope that ppl will play it wink
Or go to the map section in this forum and post your map smile
