Topic: [HELP] Crash on game launch...

Hello all.

I'm new here, and i have a problem with my laptop (Asus G51Vx SZ120V, with nVidia GeForce GTX 260M and Windows Seven x64), when i launch the game, the DOS window open, but the game crashe and i have a totally black screen, i can't open the Task Manager i just can shut down my computer, i think the resolution of the screen (1920*1080 Pixels) made the crashe.

Delete your settings.cfg and try it then. wink

I don't have this file in his folder.

The 'settings.cfg' is located in the 'config_directory'. Open it by doubleclicking and the delet 'settings.cfg'.

I already open this folder, but i don't see the settings.cfg file...

I think you are not in the right folder...

Just start your game and look then into the folder you mean its the right one, if there will be no settings.cfg, its the wrong folder.

But maybe there is a file called settings ? Without an extension? big_smile

if u dont have a settings.cfg (which actually cant be) the game would start with 800x600 wink
after u find your settings.cfg somehow try to set "gfx_fullscreen" to "0" and see what happens. U can edit the settings.cfg with a normal editor your chioce (only to let u know).
If u dont find your settings.cfg just create one into your teeworlds folder (not config folder). The game will use this settings.cfg than but wont save any changes u make in game so be aware xD
Anyway... create it by creating a new text document and than rename it from .txt to .cfg
Write the this in it:

gfx_fullscreen 0

and than save the file and try to start the game. It should start in windowed mode ^^ ..see what happens

Seriously... i think it wont change anything xD
For me it looks like a driver problem wink

I tested with latest divers, crash again...

I already go to the settings.cfg's folder, the settings.cfg file doesn't exist...


I have 2 computers, i have the old now, Teeworlds work on it, when i have my laptop i take the settings.cfg file and i transfer it on my laptop when i can have it. ;-)

People suggesting editing the .cfgs are having the right idea; however, it is hard to recover those files once deleted, as the game will only create these files once per computer.

Grenadxxor, here are all three .cfg files: http://d.imagehost.org/download/0777/Teeworlds_CFGs  Put them into the folder that opens when you run 'config_directory'.  (Alternatively, it's the filepath C:\Documents and Settings\[User]\Application Data\Teeworlds)

Your game should then run okay again.  =3  Make sure to go into the Settings and change everything to how you like it again.

If this does not fix the issue, let us know.
