Topic: [SKIN] my first skin doesn

i made a new skin (my first) and it doesn´t work, because i don´t know how to make the background transparent.
can anyone help me and do it for me please ?

1) To make a picture visible in the forum, you have to upload somewhere (e. g. at imageshack or at imagebanana). Then
    copy the direct link to your image and write it between [img]and[/img].
    Example: 

[img]http://www.imagebanana.com/img/lv5lg3iw/bluekitty.png[/img]

    This will make this:
http://www.imagebanana.com/img/lv5lg3iw/bluekitty.png

2) It would be very helpful if you tell us with which program you are working wink

I can make the background transparent for you in photoshop if you upload you'r image and
paste it here. By the way - imageshack ... Thats the worst image hosting ever.. You should use

PS - Maaan! I downloaded that inkscape of yours, and I dont understand nothing in it!
1st - theres no layers yikes...
2nd - Yeah, I tried "inkscape lessons"... Still nothing! I do exectly what it says there and nothing works neutral

That's no argument! You can also make others things with Photoshop (for example great programm to edit photos)

(If you want to upload the .svg-File: Pack it (for example with winrar/winzip) and upload it, for example at File-Upload.net
and share the link then with us

if you want to upload the picture, go to Imagebanana, get the link, they will give to you and post in between [img]and[/img] here in this topic. (Better explanation))

Do you paint over what is already on the skin that you have imported?
If you import default.png and then put some more details on it and export is at page i do not think that the background will be transparent.

I suggest you to redo all your stuff, which isn't transparent, and make them from the beginning on transparent. (Beacause I'm not able to make it transparent, and as it looks, DarkaMarta isn't able to)
Oh and please stop writing in capital letters wink

Try using a program like gimp. It will automatically make the BG transparent.
Like i did. Of course you can maybe open it in gimp then save it in a different format and open up in inkscape aand hope that it'll work.

I hope my method works for you, Because that's how i make my skins 'n' stuff
