Topic: [HELP] Ubuntu LAN not working

I like to have friends come over and play teeworlds over the LAN with no lag but i have a problem.  One pc is Ubuntu and it will not join a windows LAN server.(idk how to set a linux LAN server)  I got teeworlds through the Ubuntu software center and also tried downloading it from the site but i set the graphics too high now it doesn't load.  Great game!

so which is your main problem - your graphics, or your server. it sounds like its your graphics you are making the deal of, but your title says different.

Re: [HELP] Ubuntu LAN not working

The LAN server is my main problem because i have teeworlds 0.5.1 working by getting it through the software center.  I would like to get the downloaded 0.5.2 working because that is what the windows pcs are using but it is not necessary.

Re: [HELP] Ubuntu LAN not working

Did you try to connect to the server by entering the ip?
To use the 0.5.2 version, download the appropiate linux-version (normal or 64bit). Extract it and double click the teeworlds-executable.
If your graphics-settings are too high, delete the config-file(~/.teeworlds/settings.cfg)

aka cheesy

Re: [HELP] Ubuntu LAN not working

okay i deleted settings.cfg and got it working 0.5.2 after i found out that it was a hidden file on Ubuntu.  Now i was trying to use Portable Apps(beta) version of teeworlds because i don't want to install it and that caused the LAN not to work with portable's build and teeworld's build of the app.  I now have the correct teeworlds app working with LAN but is it portable? Thanks for your help and any good maps should i get.
