Well first of all thanks for these fast and useful answers. Let's see if we can get some things listed:

Would this really be a way of getting in contact with the community? As you know I was on IRC for quite a while, but I was only rarely contacted for forum-related business. I really like the idea of an active presence, but it seems that this is more needed for developers then for moderators. Still, if more community members have this need then it wouldn't be too much trouble to turn it back on.
|X-treme|Bee wrote:The only thing I wasn't sure about is if you really have to post a warning for ever comment made in old topics.
Well these warnings serve two purposes. First of all they are a way for the moderators to track in which post a certain rule violation was made, so that we can find it back when a multitude of rule violations has stacked to an amount that requires more serious measures. Secondly they form a warning for the person that made the rule violation. As with every forum there are many users who somehow fail to read and appreciate the forum rules. These warnings seem like a decent way to get the message out that they made a certain mistake on which they should try to improve in the future. Maybe this could change with a different forum structure, but for now this is the only way I see it function.
Captain AMN wrote:Me, and the whole community in general is tired of very low quality posts spamming the whole forum with useless maps and questions that have been answered a lot of times before.
This is indeed something that has been on my mind too, as I can understand that if it's not a problem already it will most certainly be one for the future. The positive is that with the FAQ in place and probably expanding over time good ol' questions like "How to make a server?" and "How to test a map?" can be closed with a link to the FAQ.
Things could become more difficult with low-quality custom content and artworks as closing these leads to a two-sided dilemma. On the one side they pull the high quality standard down and do to some degree "spoil" the forum, which is bad. On the other side this forum is probably one of the few places where these unexperienced artists can get some kind of feedback on their work and hopefully manage to improve themselves to some kind of standard.
What I could do for now is stick more strict to the specific graphic and map forum rules, but I'll need the help of the community with that. If you report the custom content and art work which doesn't follow the rules or in general is of too low quality to be good, we'll see what can be done to improve on this. Another possible solution could be a "high quality" forum, in which only the top notch custom content will be displayed. Then the community could contact me about the custom content which you think should go to this high quality forum and if more people agree it can be moved. I would love to hear comments on this suggestion so we can see what the potential is.
Captain AMN wrote:As a result of the before-mentioned, you should bring more attention to important topics which are of great benefit for the game.
This is certainly something which could be done, but again, I would really like to hear the communities input for deciding which topic needs to be up for a few weeks. Originally stickies were only meant for topics that need to be up 24/7 but I can understand why some remarkable events like the Archuser Review need to stand on top for a while. Be free to contact me whenever you or anyone else finds that a topic deserves this.

I guess this is something I delayed for much too long, I'll see what can be done about this.
Lanta wrote:Your work is great, but I think the forum need more moderators: one is not enough, sometimes.
Well together with Chi11y and Magnet I think there isn't that much ground we can't cover so I'm not sure whether this is a huge need. But we could bring this up for discussion at some point.
Lanta wrote:Just an idea: instead of work hard for sum double or triple posts in a row by the same user, there isn't an option in punBB, like in many other forum CMS, to prevent this? Some forums do it automatically.
This could very well be the case, but I don't have access to the adminstrator level of the forum so I don't know about this. Maybe Magnet can take a look at that.
I think this covers most of the proposed suggestions, and in general I think that some of these can become reality if we work together. You can use the report function for much more then just rule violations, but also for suggestions for stickies or other relevant comments. There is no penalty for making a "wrong" Report. Also PM is one of the easiest ways to come in contact with me about these issues.
Be free to give more pointers on which I (together with the forum) could improve as I really think this will lead to interesting insights.
