Topic: [HELP] How do I make a Tileset? o.O

Hi! i just wanna ask this, how do people make tilesets?
i asked before. if someone HAD a tileset.
but i wanna try make one.
(i know i'm noob:P)

The basics are that the tileset has to be 1024*1024. Then you should make a grid which is 64*64 pixels.
Then it's up to you what you draw and how it'll look like.

And of course you need a graphic program for it, like Inkscape, which is the best for this.

Here's a little template for you:
Click me
Of course, you have to remove the grid if you use it, or else the tile will all have a background.

And don't forget: The upper left tile will be deleted. You can put anything into it, like a copyright, but you can't see it ingame.

InkScape was a bit complicated, i don't get a damn thing with it. got any easier?

In my opinion Inkscape is very easy after some testings with it wink And I don't have another easier program in mind which could be better for you. But I would say that you watch some toturials.
e.g. have a look at the stickys from graphics section, there you find one where Lappi makes a Tee in Inkscape. Not very helpful for a tileset but you can look at how he does everything and find out some basics in Inkscape usage.
Also try out the functions by yourself to get them know.

/edit: You may try out Gimp? (But it's more complicated than Inkscape)

If man is using inkscapeits pretty useless, because it doesnt snap and u can esilly creata a grid.

Well, it helped me at the beginning, before I found out how to use the built-in grid wink

However, you should take Inkscape, it's really easy to handle if you test around a bit.
