Teeworlds Forum → Support → [HELP] problem with starting TW
hi my problem:
i downloaded tw from the homepage.
i started it.
the massage in the console was:
- failed to open autoexec.cfg
- failed to open settings.cfg
-> so I created these two files in the config_directory.
now the massege in the console is:
- executing autoexec.cfg
- executing settings.cfg
.. and nothing else happens!
please help me..
What is your OS ?

Try to fill these cfg files with all the default settings, check your anti-virus software + your firewall and see if you have all the files.

P.S. You know where these files should be right? => Application Data\Teeworlds (probably hidden)

P.S. it doesnt work this way
You don't have to create those files. Instead, look at your taskbar. There you can see "2 teeworlds". Click there and try to open the other one - the game.
there is no teeworlds-button in my taskbar
watch youre screen *facepalm
what should i see?
2TEEWORLDS there you klick and then the other...
doesn't work.
and alt+tab doesnt work too.
everytime i have to close teeworlds with the taskmanager
then reinstall windows
and if it even dont work go to youre window and trow youre computer out

Can't be this problem caused by output line [engine/datadir] with no text under the "paths used"?
