I don't like the idea of these russians at all...
If I were a a dev I would ban the IP from the master server...

Yea, it's true that the admin of the server owns it...

But the devs own the master servers and can do whatever they want.
The could even ban without reasons...

I'm really against this server, but the ban is not a good solution. Just ignore it, only russian noobs will read the message and only russian stupid noobs will send the sms xD

Maybe a little off, but if the owner/admin decides to advertise a modification as TDM, is it right because it's the property of the owner/admin? Is it the same if he make faked clients?

I think we have to differentiate between server and master-server.

The server, on which this mod is running on is the property of the admin of course. He can edit the sources, he can add ads and to sum up: he can do whatever isn't illegal.

Now lets talk about the master-server: This one is property of the respective admin, too. They can decide, which servers may register to their server and which not. It was decided that mods aren't allowed to call themselves as regular gametypes (imagine the confusion if they were...). So only the admin of the master-server is the one who decides which server to let register or not.

I don't really see the problem here! This is just 1 (!) server out of X which causes all this flutter. By mentioning it here public the chances that other guys do the same is much higher if you just "ignored" the single server. If it becomes a problem (several spam servers) there's always a chance to ban them from the master-server (or maybe ask them to host their own master-server, where it would be their stuff again).

I suggest avoiding such servers. Just don't play there. (And if some server is doing something illegal or massively disturbing then directly contact the mods/devs, so they can do whatever is needed).
