Topic: [SUGGESTION] "Pickup" channel?

Hey guys!

For some time now it has been bothering me that there is no real place to find matches set up different than those ever-the-same publics (at least if you are not claned, like me). E.g. unusual gamemodes (TDM) or maps which aren't included in your teeworlds download. I've got some friends I can play Death Match with on all the maps I like, but what I need are just some more friends, so we can also play TDM and CTF.

So for starters, if you are interested in what I have described, you might want to hit me up on ICQ or MSN (PM me to get data) and if hopefully a few people will have done that I can start organizing occasional games that are not on ctf2 or ctf5 and where people stay for the whole match.

Going one step further, I'd propose the foundation of some kind of "pickup channel" on the IRC, like it exists for a lot of other teamgames. For this to really function fine you actually need a good amount of people, I think, so I am not quite sure whether it can function right now. If you consider this a good idea and want to participate, you could just join #kre on quakenet, which I have been owning for some time now without having good use for it, and we'll see how it works out.

I already thought about that few weeks ago. The idea is great in most of games, but in teeworlds it wont work because of too small number of teeworlds players who use IRC. But if you want to teach children how to use IRC, then all i can say is "Good luck!" smile

Oh well, of course you can also join the channel if you don't think it will succeed as a pickup-channel just to contact me, I think this is obvious.

i think the most easy think is to search a clan with the same interests, same lvl of player, same time when playing.
or just create a new clan, with players with the same time when playing which you like.
this would be the most easy think because so you know that you will find some1 to play, and you dont have to wait maybe in a pickup-channel or something like that.
even if you dont like clans you should spend a thought about this wink
