Topic: [QUESTION] Is it legal to fake slots?

I often see servers that have 15/16 players, but if I try enter them, I see "Dropped due to reserved slot" or "enter password to access reserved slot". Is it legal to do it? It's pretty annoying sometimes.

In my city i have setted for me "Reserved slot" (if its some problem there, i can go there fast, if not have spots) I setted it like this: sv_reserved_slots 1 and password sv_reserved_slots_pass <reserved slot pass>

But reserved slots are not "fake slots" ... And they are allowed wink

It should be seen as 15/15, not 15/16 smile Because 100500+ other players are not allowed there.
I implemented reserved slots in my mod too, but it does display nly slots, that accessible for everyone.

No.

It is a little different, because you're talking about open slots and not players, okay. Well you have to make sure if a slot is offered that it is available to everyone, except if you put a password. Some servers don't respect that but most reserved slots don't advertise bad slots (hence servers with 15/14 players sometimes).

Some old implementations of reserved slots don't take this into account, but as long as there is no fake players and it's a modded gametype (and malicious) we don't really care. The best way is still to make sure your slots are available (like in zombie mod or others).
