Topic: [MAP] ctf_pulse - CTF/iCTF

Ohhh , it's quite a long time ago, since I posted the last map :S
Kay, doesn't matter in any way...

So here is my new map:

Discription: It's the first time a made a map, with a really good gameplay! (At least I think so) Yea, I took
                    ctf2 as an exemple, as you may have noticed, changed a lot of stuff etc. Then I tested, and tested,
                    and tested to get a great gameplay. And this is what came out: ctf_pulse.

So, I would be very pleased if you guys (espacially the good players with good gameplay) test the map, tell me bugs, things to change or anything you want to add. And maybe someone is willing to host a server for the map, cause I'm to stupid to host a public server. (Don't ask why.)


Enjoy the map and give me some constructive critism, please.

Looks very good on the screenshot, gonna try to get a testplay public and come back with more comments smile

Not bad but I think it is too high, especially in the middle section, there is a huge open area.
You should also take a look at item placement. At the top corners there are 10 hp while at other places there are only 2. Remember: Only 2 or 3 hp at one place suck, especially when they are in corners like in the middle (top and bottom).
Furthermore, the bottom corners at the sides are not used in any way, put some items there.

It looks great!
I can tell by the game play that it is wouldn't get boring and has interesting obstacles to over come. I'd really like it if this was on one of the war3 severs.

*edit* agree with step, and put more spawning places... I think there is only one each team. 0-o

First, thanks to all for feeback, i'm gonna have a closer look at it again smile

@Bee: **** forgot to add more spawns after testing phase hmm

Edit:
Added some more spawns and placed the hearts and armor other.

(Screen. And maybe someone can place the health for me when this one fails too, because I'm not very good in it hmm)

think you should do it again, and dont place too much at the the same place.

and the background looks a bit boring^^

but the gameplay seems to be ok, but i didnt test it, so i can be wrong wink

The thing is items are not well spread. At one place you have 3 and on other 10. 10 are definitely too much at one place. I told you to rework the shields in middle, the 3 at top and the 4 at bottom are not good placed. Always try to put 4, 5 or 6 hp at once, but not more and not less, unless they are at special places which are dangerous to go to, then you can put 6 hp and a weapon for example. Items should be easy to pick up, the corner in middle bottom is not good. Try to change this and your map will get better. Actually it is not bad smile

Okay, if this isn't what you expected, I'm to stupid to place items :S
Now the items are easy to get, there are 4-5 health and armor at each place, there is one place where is a shotgun with some armour, as a "dangerous" place.
Also change the middle top part, for a better hooking smile

Here we go! Well done about the items! Maybe at middle bottom, at the sides, where the holes are, it is a bit empty. There you could put some shields too. But take care not to put too many items on the map in general.
Next point: The spawns. You put 3 spawns at the same place. That is absolutely useless. Only put 1 spawn at one place. The spawn at the very left bottom is bad. Put it more right where the rocket and the hearts are or where the shotgun is at the bottom. Then we will see smile

Ok, i hope this is the last update for some time :)
Now I've change the spawns (only one at a place + one at the bottom) and added some shields at the middel bottom of the map. (Screen)

Now I need someone who can host a server for the map, please =) Would be really great.

And then a very very big thanks to you, Stephanator for helping me with this map :)

Nice man! Gonna try it out!
And keep going with your maps, you got some talent and I am sure with a bit practising they will really rock.
But don't forget the points I told you, you can also try to put hp vertically at walls.
