he's right! don't downvote him. But can you name another pic-hoster please which does not rename the files and allows hotlinking?

e.g. imageshack renames Image1.png to Image1lnc.png

It's renaming files if there is already an image with the same name, just like ImageShack.

I have just tried picfront.de. They don't change the name, but I don't know if they have a download/view limit like sigmirror.

I used to use photobucket, but even though the file name stays the same, the image itself is modified slightly. I can't see a difference, but the file size changes and it has a different hash.

photobucket.com - requires registration but has stuff like customizable albums etc.

Sorry to bump this, but I ran across it when searching on google.

I am the owner of SigMirror, and I would like to work with you to help stop this issue from occurring.  I believe you were running into an issue because images expired after 90 days.  This has since been changed so that images only expire if they have less than 5 views after 90 days.

Another option is to register on SigMirror.  Then you only have to login once every 90 days to keep your files (and you are sent a warning email before this happens).  These accounts can host virtually all file types (not just images).

Please let me know if you have any ideas, or recommendations, and I will see what I can do.

Hmmm... if thats how it is now, I just might use Sigmirror again, i am pretty sure that on this forum, we will find more then 5 views pro a post, even if useless, needless and stupid. So thanks for fixing that "bug", if it was one once.

edit: @khubajsn:  i dislike imagehack, it is somehow unfriedly and the casino popups i am getting every 3 mins are too annoying

xur17, users aren't explicitly warned about the time-limit when they upload files. No one reads Terms of Service before uploading files... We already lost much good art and skins because of that. Eh, i think moderators should create a sticky topic that warns artists that they should read TOS of their image hosting before uploading files.

i guess its not up to the moderators to inform someone about reading the terms of use or the general conditions of smth.

Yeah apmox is right, it just renames the file too like bla858jfm.png
Just use Imageshack, Includes alot of thumbnails forumcodes etc.

And just tell them what they shall rename it too.

Not everyone can see the images uploaded on "imagebanana". Better use http://imageshack.us/ or, for russians - http://pikucha.ru/
