Topic: [MAP]snowplay

A day late and a dollar short... I was too late to post it for the MDC, so I'm just posting it here. ^_^
It's basically a snow type map, for DM, and TDM. Medium sized.

- Download link: Click me.

- Game type: DM & TDM.

- Version: 0.5.1

- Screen shot:

It looks weird at the bottom, but it's fine once you play it. <3

Re: [MAP]snowplay

It looks good except theese

- too many doodads
- its weird that you cant fall down from left and right side ( non hookable tiles wall )
- everything is visible even with high detail off ( BIG NO-NO )

And I dont think big and open maps like this one are good for DM. Btw nice work.

Thanks. :]

1: Okay. I'll take some out. (but it looks boring if you take too many out) **New image and link put in**
2: You saying that I should put something viable to show that you can't go though it?
3: I don't know what high detail is, or why it's a big no-no. Enplane?

Wait are you saying: "I don't like big and open maps, but it looks good for yours." or "I don't like big and open maps. You should change that."?

Re: [MAP]snowplay

2. Yes its weird that the big nothingness stops you. Either put a wall there or make it like ctf5 - you can fall down
3. Settings - Graphics - high detail on/off -> try it out on ctf2 for example. I always play with high detail off because the stars in ctf2, and most of the doodads disturb me. And I think that all mappers should respect those settings, not because I like it that way, but because the official maps are made this way.

I said what i said - i _think_
Most DM maps are closed so that your opponent doesnt have a too big chance to run away

2: Will change were you just fall off... and die.
3: I don't get it... when you take high detail off the moon, stars, and snow go way. I don't like it, so I don't get why official maps are made that way.

Oh okay. Well I love the open space, it makes me fell free, so I'll just keep it that way.

Re: [MAP]snowplay

The detail function is important because it can save a lot of CPU resources.

I think your map would be a better CTF map than DM one.

So all I have to do to not have a high detail map is to go to my settings then graphics and turn off the height detail?

Yeah, your probably right. I'll change it up.
