Topic: [HELP] Server crashing scripts

x : Hacking Tee.
Repeatedly crashed our servers using a bug (i don't know if it's teeworlds-wide since it affected both instagib and vanilla servers (i have a logfile just before the crash if a dev needs it)).
A lookup shows that it's a static ip.

IP Edited out until things clear up.

It is my IP and I am not any hacking tee. I am involved in it, but I haven't done any harm.

I have followed the "hacker" about 2 days on different servers, mod and more to ask him how he did. I have also tried to rename myself after names that he have used. I haven't get any contact with him.

I don't think Kottizen hacks at all. also this is good if we find out what method he uses to hack so that we can make an anti aimbot. I've my ideas how some aimbot work and I think they work as I think they do. Anyways Im gonna make a add on for server very usefull you ll see.

The aimbots and the server crashes are completely unrelated, even if I think both require client modification. But that's where the similarities end.

It is easy to make an anti bind if you know the script to crash a server

I followed the "hackingtee" or whatever he is called because I wanted to get in touch with him. He never answered me, and it took a long time before I gave up.

Instead, I tried to hack my own server, and after many attempts it worked.

Under my "stalking" I tried a bunch of methods, one of them being a nick change to his name.

Just to clear things up: We know since long that servers are crashable, and searching for new ways mostly does more harm than help. Logs, on the other hand, are very useful to see what caused the crashes to be able to fix them.

The problem is solved on the lvlx servers.
The whole bug was earlier already detected by Apprentice Sheng.
My bots on the lvlx server caused a smiliar error, so i had to fix it. (It lies in the send_to error handling. There simply the connections aren't terminated properly which causes the server to let one slot being used multiple times -> leads to a crash.
You even see that message ([4a8bbe0c][assert]: src/game/server/player.cpp(8): already used) in the log posted.)

On windows you need this header in the standard includes dictionary for it to compile!

I checked my server logs once again, and the only IP trying to crash the servers appearently is Kottizen's.
I can't put in a good word for you, sorry.

I guess the hacker simply saw sheng's post and then abused what he knew...
I suggest to all of you to apply all patchs to fix crucial bugs at once to your server! smile
