Topic: [HELP] Unable to quit the game

Hello,

I'm using Kubuntu 9.04, with the 2.6.30.3 kernel, and my graphic card driver (NVidia) is up-to-date
I've installed Teeworlds one week ago, and I like this game.

But, I'm unabled to quit it. When I click on "Quit" and on "yes", the game is freezed, and I must to go to the tty, kill teeworlds, and restart kdm.

What must I do?

Don't know the reason of your problem, but try to press Ctrl+Shift+Q ingame.

Do you have the bug each time you use Teeworlds or only after some time using it (and clicking on various parts of the server brother)?

khubajsn already gave the right answer, but there is one bug we know of and will be fixed in the version that blocks the interface.

i think the problem comes from ubuntu or is at least anyhow related to ubuntu. i'm running linux mint (which is also a repository of ubuntu) at the moment and i have the same problem, though it's not occuring every time i want to quit teeworlds. then, the ctrl+shift+q combination doesn't work either, and i also get a black background in the teeworlds window (which then means, i have to actually kill the teeworlds process).

and unless i'm mistaken i think others had the same problem with kubuntu, fluxbuntu and ubuntu itself, just seen anywhere in the forum.

Maybe your problems are different, I know a lot of players who run Ubuntu based distros without any problem. I'll wait for ProgVal's answer. If you just launch TW, then try to close it using the Quit button, without any further interaction, does it work?

Which Teeworlds version do you use? The one from the Ubuntu repositories is an old one.

Magnet, I'm experiencing the same issue under Ubuntu 9.04. After playing for a while this behavior occurs. I lose sound and then when I quit, the game hangs and must be kill -9'd. As described in http://www.teeworlds.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=4024

If I launch and then quit immediately, it works as expected.

This bug is known and will be fixed for the next release (ergo, be patient). It can be simply avoided if you don't click on panels too fast when switching views (in the server navigator).

The sound issue is unrelated, it is because you are likely using the Pulseaudio SDL backend.
