Topic: Controls not working after 10.5.2 upgrade

Hi,

Just updated my OSX to 10.5.2 from 10.5.1. Running on a MacBook pro of the latest model.

Everything else seemed to work nicely, but teewars broke... sad

The im not able to move the mouse around in the menus or move around at all in the game.

Have tried re-installing the game and also deleting all the files in the .Teewars dir. Have also tried with both touchpad, and two different mice and keyboards.

Any ideas? Or is it just to wait for next release of teewars?

Ah, crap. Should have known there would already be a thread like this.

Yes its exactly the same. It moves with the mouse button pressed.

I managed to move the mouse with the mouse button pressed, at that time esc also worked.

I don't have 10.5 yet so I can't test it hmm
Will try to check this as soon as possible, but without a new computer or reinstalling the old one (which I can't do right now for various reasons) it might take a while.

Allright!

So we need someone with 10.5.2 to recompile it for us (and I want to test it with 10.4 too). Preferrable both intel and PPC.

Will do. Can do it tonight after work smile

But im not sure on howto create the .app

Maybe a guide?

put http://www.teewars.com/files/build.py in a separate folder and run:

# python build.py 0.3.4

and it will do the rest.

Hehe thats a nice one.

BUT, that on the other hand, did not work.

But I realized that if you run the executable from the commandline (/Desktop/teewars-0.3.4-osx_x86/Teewars.app/Contents/MacOS/teewars)

It does work properly. Both with the downloaded one, and the compiled one. So thats one way of making it work in the mean-time.

More ideas?

Can not confirm how it works on PPC yet.

Oh... Looks like it's a bug with GLFW and app bundles on 10.5.2 then.

Sorry, but what is GLFW? OpenGL-something?

Yes. GLFW is the OpenGL toolkit we are using for creating windows and handling input on all platforms.

Anyway, so is this your problem, or OpenGL or apple? Who needs to fix something? smile

Im happy now that I found a way to play, but for the future.

We will try go get this report to the GLFW developers and hopefully they can provide us with a updated version. Oherwise I just have to dig in myself as soon as I have the time to upgrade.

Changing CFBundleExecutable from teewars to TeeLaunch fixes the issue.

That is truly weird... because running with TeeLaunch does NOT work in 10.4. Atleast not in windowed mode.

In 10.5.2 TeeLaunch works in both fullscreen and windowed.  My only 10.4 machine is PPC and I haven't tried to compile 0.3.4 on it, so I haven't been able to test it.

EDIT: Ah ok, if I compiled it myself and then edit the CFBundleExecutable it works.

UPDATE:

Allright... I will cet my new mac in about two weeks time. So there will be debugging then... Expect the fixes to be in 0.4.

Fixed in 10.5.3  for windowed play.
