Topic: [HELP] How to deal with DoS attacks on my server?

hey TeeWorlds Community,
A Player Names [Krypton] Edgecrusher made an DoS atack on My I-net.
I dont know what it is, but i had mass Laggs and my ping was allready on 300.
I had a lot of Disconeccts and he allready Laugh about it.

Although the means to carry out, motives for, and targets of a DoS attack may vary, it generally consists of the concerted efforts of a person or persons to prevent an Internet site or service from functioning efficiently or at all, temporarily or indefinitely. Perpetrators of DoS attacks typically target sites or services hosted on high-profile web servers such as banks, credit card payment gateways, and even root nameservers.

He made this on me.

I hope you can make something to stop him, cause he made thinks, what i think is like cheating.
He Made an TW that he can look like Dyn-cam all time, but he havn´t dyn cam.

I think he is Dangerous for every Player, when he had you IP, so pls stop him.

Unfortunately there's little that development can do for you, as Teeworlds is open source, all of the code is freely available and can be edited without limitations. If an individual decides to abuse this in order to gain attention for his idiotic behavior we wouldn't be able to ban him for several reasons.

The long term solution would be to give Teeworlds some kind of coded protection against such attacks, but a more realistic and effective solution would be to report the IP of this person to this topic. Concerned players will make sure this person gets banned from their server. Just a name won't be enough though, as this can be changed in seconds and doesn't point at one specific player.
