Topic: [BUG] strange graphical behaviour (0.5.1, linux)

i have (new) problems running teeworlds-0.5.1 under gentoo (linux).

  1. in menus: some text (or their fonts) are displayed blurred and flickering.

  2. in menus: the background graphic does not get loaded (see the squares), and a player graphic is scrambled (it's always the one above the selected one).

  3. [SOLVED] in game: on some maps (esp. dm1) the graphics start to "smear", like if only the movement gets paint.
    solution: put 'gfx_clear 1' in your settings.cfg

  4. [SOLVED] in game: the background image gets replaced by a yellow pattern/color.
    solution: put 'gfx_noclip 1' in your settings.cfg

any ideas?

Re: [BUG] strange graphical behaviour (0.5.1, linux)

well, i played around with the settings.cfg and found a solution to problem #3:
turn gfx_clear on, and the "smearing" effect stops! at last teeworlds is playable for me now ;-)

but, now i recognized a new problem #4: the background image in-game most of the time get's replaced by a yellow pattern/color! (screenshot of bug #4)!

and of course problem #1 and #2 still exist...

try gfx_noclip 1.
I used to have the same problem with an ATi Radeon Mobility X600 under linux. It disappeared when I installed proprietary drivers.

wow, that was fast AND correct -- i will update the first post to reflect the solutions... thanks a lot! ;-)

the proprietary drivers from ati are no solution for me, my card is not supported by them anymore...
