Topic: TeeWorlds 0.6.0 - question

Hello all.
At first, I think it is needed to say I am Windows user and I haven't got any experience with Linux, Mac OS X or any other operation systems.
When I download TeeWorlds and unzip it, there is an teeworlds.exe application. Of course there is an data folder with player-customizable files like gameskin, skins, etc. . Don't be afraid, I will not forgot for config_directory.bat and server console application.
I have got one question.. Is it able to compile Lua scripts? Or.. new version is about very few of C++ script which will contain a code communicating with Lua? Because of I am afraid of the new TW version (?compiled?)! I am afraid of there will be scripts directory in data folder and there will all game core.. Will new version compiled? Is it able? Or how it will look?
Thanks,
Khubajsn

Re: TeeWorlds 0.6.0 - question

I am not sure if i understand your question, but text version will be compiled too, and scripts will be at server side, client will be whole C/C++ (at least I think).
Lua is not compiled, it is interpreted language, and code needed to interpret is will be shipped in binary.

Re: TeeWorlds 0.6.0 - question

I think I read somewhere in track.teeworlds.com that they are "converting" the engine from C to C++. I think before the engine was written in C and the game in C++. But now it will all be C++ (and Lua).

Correct me if I am wrong smile

Re: TeeWorlds 0.6.0 - question

ok at first it is trac.teeworlds.com wink and the rewriting in C++ is in backlog so its not really planned for 0.6

uptee - a simple web interface for hosting and maintaining teeworlds servers
teerace - a website gathering results of trusted Race-mod servers providing global ranking and statistics
