Topic: [MOD] Tee-Strike is near!
Announcement
You all remember the mysterious mod in the War is coming...-thread? As the next step towards release, we are proud to officially announce this mod soon-to-be-finished!
To celebrate this, we want to give you something firm to hold on to. Something you can hug at night, or talk to when you're lonely:
1. A name! Yeah, that's right. Tee-Strike!
10 repetitions before bed and you'll remember it forever.
2. The official Tee-Strike website!
Make sure to put a bookmark. The website will evolve with the development, and you'll find some really neat stuff there in near future.
We've officially entered --> closed <-- beta.
This stage of development means heavy testing, small tweaking and polishing. We still don't want to set a release date. There might be things that still need work or rework and that could render a release date obsolete.
Also, I just wanna inform you that we want your input and feedback after release. Or, not just want. We need your input to be able to make improvements. We'll test drive and see that it won't break for now. Soon it's your turn.
Information
Tee-Strike will feature (among other things):
* New game modes
* 12 weapons (+ hammer )
* A buy system
* Complete compatibility with normal clients, gamemodes and maps. No new stuff needed.
* An optional custom client that adds many nice things to the Tee-Strike experience.
Extra content
We promised more content, so here's more content. :] This time we're gonna tell you a bit about one of the new gamemodes. It's called Flag Snatch, and it's basically a hybrid between CTF and Hostage Rescue. The red team's goal is to blast their way to the blue team's flag, steal it, and take it to the return spot (red flag). The blue team, on the other hand, has to desperately protect their flag until the round hits the time limit, or kill the red team. After three rounds, the teams switch places, so that the attackers become defenders and vice versa.
Flag Snatch is tsFS in-game, and the fs-maps have the "fs"-prefix. There will be a total of 4 maps for fs in the initial release, just to give you a taste of the concept. With your help, that number might increase for later versions.
Now comes the fun part. I had a little chat with our lead mapper, and he has a nice preview for you all. Enjoy!
Speaking of maps

[Chi11y] Okay, here is a blueprint of one of the maps made for the new flag snatch game mode. It's suited for most ranges of players, from 1on1 to 5on5/6on6. The attackers are starting in the far east, with a speedhook similar to the one in ctf2 lower bases to give them speed into the main gameplay area.
The defenders are spawning kinda spread, with some in the flagroom, and some at the lonely cactus. The first encounter of the teams are mostly by the longwood, right above the nubkiller. Here, defenders with rocket launchers have the opportunity to push the attackers down into the dreaded nubkiller, but airborne big momma-users will hate that place aswell.
Often, it's tactically a good idea to instead of going the short way to the flagroom, or do the climb to the cactus spawn, turn down to the government hole, and through the tunnel. After that you have multiple ways to reach the flag, there is also a really useless appendix way added for t3h lulz. If the attacker team gets the flag, the happy campers that form the defending team suddenly has to move. Their goal quickly turns into rushing for the government hole, to catch the flagholder while he rushes through the underground tunnel of unpredictable death like a ferrari with jet engine.
The rest of the attackers would at this point try to stop the defenders from getting to the tunnel. Overall, it's a nice map with many tactical opportunities that will keep you satisfied for a while (most people here have been satisfied with ctf2 for so long I don't doubt you can stay with this one for some years).
