Topic: setting server to run on system startup as specific usr

OK. I have made a user called teeworld and I want it so that when I startup my computer, my server automatically start under this user. How would I do that?

Re: setting server to run on system startup as specific usr

You can either use run-parts or the crond (if you also want your server to be restarted when it stops, for instance using the shutdown command). There is a shell script in these forums (use the search function) that does exactly what you ask, but using the games account (which is standard on Debian-based systems).

This is a very generic OS-specific question so you should refer to your operating system's documentation (Ubuntu wikis) or help forums (Ubuntu forums) if you want more information.

You can add startup commands in System > Preferences  > Sessions.

Have searched the entire forum can not find the shell script you mentioned. Also, Chi11y, that would work, however that would require me to log in as the treeworld usr in order to start the server.
