Topic: Teeworlds server configuration

Okay. I hope someone will be helpful this time.

Every single time I try to host a teeworlds server, i come across a problem sad

And every time i go past a problem, i find another one sad

Its happened to me over and over and over but when i ask for help, barely anybody can and will help me sad

I think that this is my 5th time trying to host a proper teeworlds server. sad

Okay. the last time i hosted a server, i got "whatever map not loading" or something like that and it dumped me with a dm1 server with DM gameplay. I read some other topics and made progress into making a server but now, i cant get my server to say "Franchans server" as the title and I still cant make it to load the ctf5 map [For testing].

Here is my config file:
sv_name=Franchan
sv_gametype=CTF
sv_warmup=3
sv_map=ctf5
sv_maprotation=ctf5
sv_max_clients=2
sv_scorelimit=25
sv_port=8303
sv_sendheartbeats=1
sv_rcon_password=franchan

Oh ya and the rcon wont work

please? I have been trying to get a server going for a long time...

You must set your config in a "autoexec.cfg"...

Yes, name it autoexec.cfg and put it in the same folder as the server executable, OR specify the name in the Terminal (i.e.: /User/Desktop/teewords/teeworlds_srv -f franchan.cfg).  I just use the autoexec method; just run the server and it happens. 

Later, you can call up the map rotation and change it with the console once you're online.  Connect to your server in-game, hit F2 and type your password.  Then, type sv_maprotation to see the maps and then again type sv_maprotation ctf1 ctf2, etc.  Finally, type in sv_maprotation again to make sure it took.  You can change other settings to. 

The command list is on this website.  Go to the main Teeworlds.com page, Go to the Support tab and select Documentation.  In the Server section is all the information you'll need, unless you're using a mod.  In that case, many have added commands.

I tried using the teeworlds server launcher for the autoexec and the franchan file...
I tried using rcon...

I dont know why.. before i could make a useless dm1 server with my name as the title but now, everything is default...

rcon wasn't working because it didn't pick up the variable in the config file, therefor it had no password, according to the text on your Teeworlds game. 

My only guess at this point is the first two lines of both of your config files may be confusing the server.  The "Setting value, setting2 value2" is part of the template telling you how to set variables.  It didn't make any sense to me either.

Delete those two lines, and give it another go.  Good luck! smile

i just added those two lines after i tried your suggestions earlier..

and i tried again. no difference

any other suggestions. if there are no more. i might as well wait another month before trying again...

Do you really have Teeworlds installed to /Users/Franchan/Library/Application Support/Teeworlds? I don't use the server launcher, just the executable, myself, so I don't know how or where it looks.  It seems it may be looking in the wrong spot for the config file...

ohkay. Its kind of late so ill reinstall teeworlds tommorow.

No =, you must separate with space.
Example: sv_name Mycoolserver

Hmm when i run a server, i put the autoexec.cfg in my normal TW folder and it works fine.

back to the origional problem.

... back to square one...

so then i took one of the older suggestions in my deleted topic and copied the maps in the teeworlds.app [the actual game] and put it  in the franchan/library/application support/teeworlds/maps and tried again.
nothing.
