Topic: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

Hi all,

we are officially starting our new project GeePlay.com from today.

It is a set of online multiplayer games for money, but for free as well. You can top-up your credit via PayPal, moneybookers, or by credit card and after that payment just enjoy playing our games. All won credit is possible to exchange for money by return. Moreover you get a bonus at the level of the top-up credit after your first top-up.

As a first type of the GeePlay game, we are introducing TeeWars
You can choose from 3 different gameplay modes.

· Training mod – aimed at the improvement of your skills, without influence to your account and credit

· Deathmatch – this mode is divided to various modes, depending on the amount of the points for every kill. You get points for every killed opponent. If you die, points are counted off your account

· Tournament – The tournament starts, when sufficient number of players joins the game and it ends after the time limit or the number of kills for the tournament is reached. When the
tournament is over, rewards are divided among the best players.

At first you have to register. Then you need to download geePlay.com client and you can start playing. Registration process and installation is as simple as possible. Consequently you can buy a credit via PayPal.

As a start-up action we launch a special tournament for 1000 EUR. The most successful players of this month can beat for this worthy price. The similar activities begin as a matter of course.

For more information just visit http://geeplay.com, or contact us at info@geeplay.com.
You can also give us your feedback here. :-) Thanks!

Re: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

Yes, also linux version is planned in nearly future.

Re: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

Using a free game to make money is devious. I'm not talking about the players, but the whole project.

bam: WARNING:'src/game/server/gamemodes/mod.cpp' comes from the future

Re: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

We are dealed with author of the game, and we will donate teeworlds project.

Re: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

I think that there are plenty of questions  people will start to ask, so it would be really nice if you could answer them right here. I know it's all in the Terms of Service, but it will save many people from reading it all.

1. Do we need to deposit money to get counted into the ranking system?

2. Do we need to deposit money to take our chance at the € 1000,-?

3. Can we turn the ingame money back into real cash without losing any?

4. If we make use of the bonus, can we retrieve the bonus back to really money as well?

5. Will our personal data be used for anything else then the unique verification of our accounts?

6. Do our deposits pay for the prize money?

7. How do you make sure people don't support each other by teaming up against the rest?

8. When you register a friend, does he or she need to deposit money to get you the bonus?

9.

6.7 In Tournament mode, prior to starting the Game Player is also obliged to pay a fee for administration and operations of the Gaming console in the sum determined for each Game by Operator. Fee is used by Operator to cover administration, maintenance and operations of Gaming console.

How much will these fees be?

Thanks in advance.

No real deal, has actually been done. They don't need to do that. Just check the license, it's very very liberal. If they donate is just a nice bonus.

1. Do we need to deposit money to get counted into the ranking system?
- Yes, because statistics are not calculated by free training game.

2. Do we need to deposit money to take our chance at the € 1000,-?
- Yes.

3. Can we turn the ingame money back into real cash without losing any?
- Yes.

4. If we make use of the bonus, can we retrieve the bonus back to really money as well?
- Yes. As soon as you reach your bonus (for example 10g/10g), you can transfer this bonus money into your account. You raise your bonus amount by playing. The more limit servers you play the faster your bonus is raised.

5. Will our personal data be used for anything else then the unique verification of our accounts?
- No.

6. Do our deposits pay for the prize money?
- No, tournament is donated by us.

7. How do you make sure people don't support each other by teaming up against the rest?
- Every game is recorded and we have more ways and techniques (which are not published because of security reason) to avoid this.

8. When you register a friend, does he or she need to deposit money to get you the bonus?
Yes, your friend should play for real money, or your bonus become inactive.

9.
6.7 In Tournament mode, prior to starting the Game Player is also obliged to pay a fee for administration and operations of the Gaming console in the sum determined for each Game by Operator. Fee is used by Operator to cover administration, maintenance and operations of Gaming console.

- The tournament fee is 10%. So, if you are going to play for 1€, you will pay 1€ + 0,1€. You can play for 10 € if there are 10 players playing.

cool.... not! -.- I just hate community projects of a game which is supported by all 3 OS's but the project not. and in 20 years of internet people should already know that we have to support all 3 OS's. that not because we wanna be nice but because Mac and Linux user are not unnecessary!

I do.... but that means, that Mac-Users don't even have a chance to play in this special tournament. hmm

btw. could u try to make the client in java 1.5 for mac? only the macs late 2006 are 64bit and Mac OS X only supports Java 1.6 for 64 bit. 32 bit macs still use 1.5.

Uhhh...

Great website! It is amazing how you encoded PHP functions into the game client. I hope that we will work together in the future for the good of the community

[/offtopic]

I would totally play in this if I had money to pay with. xD

Still very hard to find anyone to play against though...

Re: [PROJECT] Geeplay project started!

I've seen some players of which I know they aren't 18 yet but they are still playing for money. Isn't this forbidden by the terms of service and probably illegal in most countries (consent from parents required) ? How is Geeplay going to ensure that the players we face have been honest about their age to prevent troublesome miscommunication?
