Hello all, its ARYAlive. Can anyone write a tutorial to teach HOW to create RAIN, or SNOW, on a map? Yes, I have searched the forums.
use quads and animate them via envelopes. Read the map editor tutorial for the basics
with envelopes.
its hard to explain...
ask somebody who knows in skype and tele with him
it will take a whilse till u understood
thanks you. : )
Hi...
Create a group and set both paras to 0.

Add a quad layer and a new quad in it.
After that change the alpha channel on every corner of the quad to 25.
Don't forget to form it, so it looks like rain.
Tip: You should set this layer to detail, because it CAN lag on some computers.

Click on envelopes and on Pos. +
Blend out the blue line by clicking on R(otate).
Make sure your envelope looks like this:
Image
Right click on the yellow spot from your quad and set Pos. Env to 1 (the number of the envelope).
Image
Click on Proof to see how far a tee can see and zoom out so you can see all 3 boxes.
Mark your rain quad like you mark tiles and copy it as many times as you want, but make sure it looks like the picture, so there won't be any clear spaces.
Click on Anim, Proof and 1:1. Now move around to see how your rain would look like ingame.

@Pocram
Hi, and Thank you so much, I was looking exactly for rain.
when you click ANIM, is the rain supposed to move? Mine does not. what is wrong?
Maybe you forgot to bind the envelope to the quad?
Post screens of the envelope, the quad and the group please. (The whole screen would be good)

Or send me the .map file..
